Hi everyone,
Since a few weeks now I have went to my Gp, whom told me that I have overstretched ligaments in my foot.
At the moment despite support bandage, resting(Certain not as much as I should...)and rubbing on some gel for jointpai/musclepain, also I take painkillers for the usual stuff that Sjogren and Lupus bring.
But despite that, it's not getting better.
The raising in Pred for 5 days, being at 12..It's not helping with anything nor the swelling in my wrist and the pain in both of them.
Right now my foot is hurting so much and burning too, my Rheumy is not seeing me untill next friday.
I'm scared if this could mean to be in a cast(?) for 6 weeks or however to rest it.As my mom told me it happened to her when her knee ligament was overstretched and not getting better.
Hugs and love. :-\
;D Shani,
Try not to worry yourself too much over it. It is what it is. It can be managed, even if it has to be an awkward cast. I hate those too! I had a removable boot to wear for overstretched ligaments. It was cumbersome, but SO nice to take off for bathing and sleep!
Let us know what happens. Fingers crossed!! 8)

(((Hugs))) I hope that it feels better soon.
Thank you Kelly and Joe.
I'll try my best to stay calm over this, just being a bit 'couch/bedridden' is of course not an entertaining thing to experience but I'll try to manage while waiting for friday. :)
I hope you start feeling better soon!
Maybe something like physiotherapy could help it heal faster. Has the doctor mentioned anything like that?
I do get PT twice a week, but the PT didn't say much when I mentioned-perhaps I'll say it again when I go, I had to cancel a few times now-Due to too much pain.
Does anyone notice that if they get overstretched ligaments or muscles or any bone gets hit by accident....that it doesn't heal as fast as it used to? My golden rammed into the knuckle bone of my right hand and that pointer finger and the knuckle have been healing sooooo slow! It's like I have to be real careful now with my rambunctious dogs, that they don't slam into any of my joints. Ohhhh when they step on my big toe joints....OUCH!
