I put off taking Evoxac because I have really wanted to address the root cause of my dry mouth by starting plaquenil, eating better, etc. I do feel like the plaquenil has helped, but I've only been on it 3 months. Hoping it will help more by the 6 mo mark. However, I have several work meetings coming up, and need relief before then...SO, I started evoxac today. Took my first pill about 11:30, and expected something to happen. Nothing really did. I maybe felt a bit more saliva, but not enough to make talking totally comfortable.
So now what? I'm hoping maybe it will just take a bit to actually work. Like maybe if I continue taking it over the next several days, it will work more and more? I hope??? Anyone have a similar experience?
I would continue to take it over the next few days so you can get the "feel" of how this is going to work for you. I take it 3x day and it's not always the same. Sometimes I get quite a lot of saliva (thin and for a short time) and other times I can't tell that I've taken the pill. Once in awhile I get too much saliva and it's embarrasing if I'm out and talking with people. That's one of the reasons it might be good to continue to take Evoxac. You can get a better idea if you want to continue it or not. Lucy
I agree with Lucy, try it for 3 months before you make a decision. I take it 3 times a day, which works better than just taking a pill here and there. Try taking it every day and 3 times a day.

Oh lolo
I've taken them all, and for me they all worked wonderfully. But it takes a few days/weeks/months for them to kick in.
Boy, now when I'm out for some reason (I think I 'lost' a 3-month RX bottle) I can tell right away!
This reminds me to call my family care MD to get another emergency RX called in.
Keep us posted on how it's going.

I've only taken it during the night when I can't swallow, and my throat seems like its sticking together. It makes me drool in my sleep... :-\
