Title: Savella = Sweating!
Post by: Jozee on October 05, 2011, 09:28:21 AM
I'm taking Savella and have been for about 2 1/2 months. It's really helping my nerve pain but I am sweating like crazy! I thought it would go away after awhile but it's not.

I'm not sure if it's sweating since i don't actually get wet but I am super overheated and feel like I am drenched but not wet. I rarely sweat. The being too hot is almost enough to were I'd rather have the pain! But not quite!

I do not take the med you are taking about. I have the symptoms you are talking about. It is just a Sjogren's 'gift'.

Jozee,

I'm so glad that Savella is helping your nerve pain!  It has especially helped the awful sore and painfully achey, stinging stuff in my shoulders and lower back.  It's in my "arsenal" of a combination of meds that are helping pretty well.

I, too, have several times per day on average when I just get hot all of a sudden.  Not like a hot flash, because I've "been there, done that."  ;) That felt like an inferno that fired up my chest and when it reached my head, my face got red and so hot I could hardly breathe.  This is more like all of sudden I walked into a furnace; very hot and sometimes my forehead or back of my head sweats. Then it's gone as quickly as it came on.

I didn't know if this was from Savella or just that my thermostat is broken.  :-[ Personally, if this is a side effect, I'll gladly take the annoyance over the stinging pain!   ;D 8)

I believe like you that my thermostat is broken. The top half of me is normally warm and the bottom freezing cold. However, when this "hot" feeling comes over me my entire body is roasting hot. And again like you said...it stops just as suddenly.

I always wished for the day when I'd have hot flashes since I'm always cold. Now I'm afraid I got what I wished for!
