Hi to all of my SJS friends in the path of the never ending rains, hold on tight, stay safe, and dry as best you can.
Patze
Have you got the rain Patze, or do you want me to send you some :)
Kathyx
No no Kathyx, I've had over 9 inches with a 24 hour period....we've been flooded out, and then some. Thanks for the kind offer, but I'll have to decline! ;) :D
Patze
Gosh Patz, that's awful. Are thing sdrying out a bit now?
Its not raining in Yorkshire today, but it's chilly now. We are at 11 pm and I'm up later than usual, but have the fire on, and I'm really cosy. Have just been upstairs to put my electric blanket on - can't beat a nice warm bed on cool autumn evenings.

Oh my, the sunshine was out for a bit today, and it was glorious (it's been raining/cloudy for several days straight and very tired of "gloomy").
Have been hand wringing my clothes out and hopefully they'll be dry soon! ;) :D
Enjoy the cosy and warm bed, and can I say that I'm jealous???? Would love to have a live fire in the fireplace (don't have one of those).
Patze
Patze,
I so hope that things are getting a bit better in your area. Try to stay as dry as you can, too!
We have had all the remnants of Trop. depression Lee here in SE Kentucky. It has rained almost constantly since last Sunday afternoon! :P We had almost 5 inches between Sun-Mon. There has been some flooding, but nothing close to what's happened up your way.
I'm tired of "gloomy" too. We don't have any sign of sunshine yet, but at least it only rained PART of today.
:D
It finally quit raining in Minnesota about the first of September---maybe a few days earlier as the State Fair opened the end of August and they had pretty good weather this year.
Otherwise it has rained a whole lot since May. Believe it or not it is now stating to get dry and dusty out again. You think the rain will never stop and it does. It rained so much here this summer that when you opened you door and stuckyour head out the air smelled moldy and like dead fish or scummy lake water all the time.
I certainly feel bad for all these people who are having all the flooding. There is no one who is exempt from this.We had some flooding here this summer and all it takes is the right conditions and we would all be up a creek, literally.
Just because a person isn't in a flood plain doesn't mean that flooding won't occur. I would rather have a tornado than a flood. There is something about the dirty water that contaminates everything and I don't know how a person can get it clean again. Irisih
Gosh, the flooding is really the worst of it. There were areas that were evacuated because of all of the water accumulation, and I sure feel for those folks that are now allowed back into their homes and have to deal with the aftermath.
Wow Irish, you hit the nail on the head with your description about how the air smells moldy/scummy when it rains a lot. Kind of like when I went to check on the parental units when the rains were slowing down (basements flooding is very common in this subdivision). The air smelled foul somehow...weird (maybe just my sniffer being off :-\).
The sun is out, my plants and the fur ball are enjoying life once again, ah, life is good. :)
Hang in there Melinda and I hope that the rains stop soon for you. I normally love the rain, but when it rains for days on end, it gets old fast.
