I have had my first visit to the physical therapist. I got an assessment of my lower extremities, especially my left knee. I have bilateral muscle weakness in my legs. It actually starts in the hips, not the knees that have the prescription for therapy. I have 2 weeks and then go back to the ortho. I don't know what will happen after that.
I see my GP on Tuesday. I am planning to ask for a referral to a nutritionist, the ortho again for my back(lower) and dermatologist. I'm on a grant for medical so getting help is a little difficult. I don't have insurance and haven't for years. Just too expensive.
Binder & Binder just informed me that it could be up to year(longer) before I get a court date for my disability. Not good. I have 1 month left of income to cover my bills. It has been 1 year since the worst had started, and since October when I had to leave my job, and filed for disability.
Oh well. One day at a time!!!!
Hi bsnook,
I hope that the physcial therapy can bring you some relief. My left knee seems to be the worst, too, but it begins with stiffness in my hips.
I can understand how expensive insurance is, and for some of us it might be out of the question. Also know what it's like waiting for disability to be approved. It seems like such a long road.
My hope is that hearing comes much sooner than later, but please don't hesitate to inquire about any and all community or local services that might help you in the meantime.
Take care,
Melinda
Good luck at the physical therapist, and forget to keep us updated, okay?
Take care of yourself -

Hi BSNook and welcome
I have a physio assessment on Wednesday of this week. Mine is for weakness from my hips to my knees too. My rheumy believes they are hypermobile, and that's where the pain comes from. However, I'm more interested in where the weakness comes from.
I will be intersted to hear how you get on.
