Knowing that autoimmune diseases are very similar and over-lap with symptoms
I have always felt like'maybe there's something in addition going on' that the docs
have not validated yet.
I have brought this up from time to time...with no real action or results on the docs parts.
I have firm dx for both the Fibro and Sjogrens, Docs,tests,charts to back it all up.
My hearing with ssdi will be coming up anyday(any month) now... in the systems own sweet time
while we get deeper into the poor house and struggle to keep a roof over our heads and food in the fridge.(ugghhhh)
I just worry that maybe I should get one visit-one
serious conversation in with a Rheumy before that happens.
If there are more pieces to the puzzle missing, hadnt I better get that info sooner
rather than later?
There is of course the persecution we face when they like to treat you like you just
would LOVE another dx like you want so bad to be a sick person.
sitting there judging me, knowing i have applied for ssdi makes them scritinize
everything all the more.
I get terrified everytime i think about the possibility the Judge may choke me
like so many doctors have in the past
Not sure wether or not to pursue it.
I have been THE SICKEST I'Ve EVER BEEN
for the last 5 months straight (atleast).
I sure wouldnt mind feeling better either. lol
I dont think it's crazy of me to suppose maybe there's more going on that needs to be addressed.

I can really relate (as others here can, I'm sure) to that long wait for an approval. Meanwhile, the finances need to stretch further and further. I hope you've been able to receive help from county or local agencies, if that's been necessary. We had a bit of assistance during that time, and it was a real lifesaver!
As far as going to the rhuemy again, I suppose that's really up to you. From my experience with the SS Disability process, they look at things such as if you've kept regular appts. and are taking meds prescribed, etc. For example, if you're seeing docs every 2-3 months or so, and have gotten those scripts filled.
If you feel there's other issues you have questions about, then my personal opinion would be to do what you feel is best for you and your peace of mind.

I would see the doctor again. You do not need another diagnosis. You need the doctor to know all the ways your current diagnoses impair your functioning. Perhaps your doctor could then write a letter describing this to send to the determination unit. My lawyer advised this, my doctor did it and I was approved.

if you told SS that your are a patient of Dr ?,, he shouldhave got a function questionarre to fill out,, I would make the appt and call the caseworker that handing your case and tell them you had a visit with your Rheummy,, whenI was going throughthe process, I called SS everytime I saw a doctor,, sent them copies of my labs,, anything to make my case stronger
