Dont know That I'm posting this in the right place....
I'm Too new at this. lol
I Just want to point out what a HELP it is to have, for example....
Joe S. >>> You led the way to showing me and many others "The Spoon Theory".
http://butyoudontlooksick.com/navigation/BYDLS-TheSpoonTheory.pdf
By the way everyone, I found It so helpful at the main website, that there is now a video to watch
of her reading this!
I posted the video on my Facebook!!!
I'm drilling it into everyone I know.lol
If It werent for all of us coming here, and lending our thoughts to one another
along with the support- for myself i can say I would have missed SO MUCH!
I would not have been able to 'build armor' as I call it
to strengthen myself with-when dealing with other people-friends-family-etc
We can get thru this, I really believe in that now ;-)
I am glad that you believe you can manage this now!
well, Joe-
I dont know. I guess I HAVE TO, like we all do. lol
what I have gained more belief in lately, is that there are others out there who want to help,
and that I need to try to see what is out there that can help.
thanks :-)
I just knew this would subject would be moved.lololol
I confess- i'm still learning. now I have the new format to get the hang of. lol
Thanks....
Some great thoughts, sunnybunny. :)
I especially like your idea of "building armor." That's a very descriptive way to put it; makes me think of the way we need to fight against this thing called Sjogren's (and all our related conditions). I've learned to fight in a different way. At the beginning, I thought I could "bully" it by just doing things I used to do. :) That didn't work very well...it put me down for the count!
Now I know to sneak around it, and adapt just like it changes with me constantly. I also believe we can get through this, and doing it together makes it so much easier! In fact, don't think I could do it without all you guys...
Take care,
Melinda
Thanks for the link to the spoon theory, tis is the first time I have read it.
There are days when I feel like that author- days when people say "you look great!" "Oh, don't complain." "You don't look that bad."
I want to say "Looks aren't everything." "you don't understand how I feel."
quilt4fun,
Glad you were able to read "the Spoon Theory". No, unless they are going through it, they don't know how you (or any of us) feel...
Case in point; my eyes have really bothered me for a week. My husband has watched me put hot compresses on and dropped stuff in my eyes a lot. I know he TRIES his best to understand, he's been great, but I think I got through to him the other day. He asked if they were sore. I said, you know how your eyes hurt if you get too much chlorine in them from a pool? But you know it will go away within an hour or so? Well, mine feel like that all the time. He said, oh...I get it. Sometimes people can't understand unless we explain in a simple way. Bless the ones who "get it."
