All I see is a big red X where all the icons used to be...? (No formatting options or anything.)

Yes, the icons are lost. I need to totally recreate the default theme.

I can set an entirely new default in the meanwhile, what is your opinion? The new one will have everything it needs.

I guess you can stop holding your breath now, it seems to be working LOL
I take it the new themes are a matter of fine tuning? I wish I knew a little about how it works, so I could give you a hand, but maybe in this case, too many cooks would spoil the broth anyway! Thanks for the changes and improvements.

is the update the reason why when i first come to the web site  it says "Welcome, %1$s."  instead of Welcome Guest like it use to?

Are you still working on it?  The personal message indicator doesn't say they are even 'messages'.  Some new people might not know what the number represents.  Stats are missing everything except name of a user.  It could be the newest user, last user to post, or something else...it doesn't say any more.

Maybe an update on the process and what to expect would be helpful.

Thanks

Hi Spring, I wonder how many changes I have gone through in the years I have been on the board. It is a lot of work for you and I thank you for that.I am slowly figuring this one out. No problems yet that I am aware of. Hope all is going well. Irish

Gurs, you have to go to your profile, click on "modify profile" then "forum profile" and type your information in the signature line

Hi Spring,

Not sure, but I think spell check isn't working.

OK, I know this is not exactly the coloring of the old one, and I will play with the color as I have time, but I believe now that all the functions are working and numbers and labels ok.

I also will try to get the SMF off and our logo back at the top, but the main thing is that right now, it should be working properly.

Spell check works for me. It is a pop up window so if it does not pop up you need to change browser settings or, I think hold down ctrl or alt when you click it.

Let me know what needs fixing please!

Wow - today i was greeted as "guest" again.  That feels so much more welcoming then the "Welcome, %1$s."

This looks like a new system for sure.   Spell check is working for me also.

Those of us who stay signed in could not see the changes until we appeared as a guest and had to sign in again...and this must be why there were unusual numbers/labels.

Looks much better now that I can actually see the changes.

Thanks for the upgrade.

Spring, your hard work seems to be paying off, things look great.

I've only found a few residual issues. I'm using the YaBB SE Next Gen theme, and have noticed that the staff members stars aren't showing up beside their posts, but other membergroups are. The other thing I've noticed is that the "new" button beside topics isn't showing, just the red X and text saying new.

For those of you having trouble with the colour or graphic parts of the upgrade, it may be helpful to change your personal theme (under modify profile)...I had to experiment until I found the one most compatible with my visual preferences, and I think Spring plans some colour tweaking to bring the themes more in line with the traditional look of our site; please correct me if I am mistaken in that, Spring.

Yes, I will work on this as I can. I start back to school on Monday (for those who do not know, I teach 7th and 8th grade science). I have begun planning this week and once it starts, it will be real busy. I have big new ideas for my students this year and have not created the delivery method yet - much is in my head.

Anyway, those explanations, Linda, of what is missing are excellent, Linda. I will look for the missing parts.....Always try refreshing your browser.
I created the stars, and they do not show up in the other themes unless I change the default. They are often simple block shapes.

I did use the Yabb as a start over point, because it was one of the ones designed for the new version 2.0 of the boards. I will be removing the ones that are old and not functioning properly. I will add more version 2 eventually...however, they do not render our logo at the top, another thing I am working on.

Keep telling me what is missing so I fix problems if I Can.

Thanks, all!

Spring, I love the new look. Thank you very much for all your hard work. Good luck with your school work. My dil is a science teacher for similar age kids, and I know how hard the work is. My hat is off for you for doing this too.

Spring, I think you've done a magnificent job on the upgrades!   I must admit I was pretty confused at first, because change does not come easily for this old SJS brain of mine... :P

But I just love it!  Thanks so much.

Spring,

Thank you for all your work to upgrade the site.  After my foggy brain got accustomed to the difference, it is very clear and clean-looking.  Very nice!

I hope you have a great beginning to a new school year.  ;)

what happen to the reply to postings? i enjoyed getting notified via-email when someone responded to the postings?

The main message board is very hard to read...everything is so close together? maybe its just me?

thanks for all your efforts..Im sure this updating is no fun.

I appreciate all your hard work and thank you for it.  I am, however, having trouble reading the topic posting as the print is so small.  Is there a way we could go back to the larger print.

Thanks,

Anna

On your keyboard, hold down the Control Key and press the Plus Key (+) multiple times to increase the text to the size you need. (Hold Control and press the Minus Key (-) to make smaller text). This should work on all browsers and all web pages. I make mine as big as possible and it really takes the strain out of reading at the computer.

For some reason the bottoms of my posts contain about double the space of other people's posts. I thought at first I was hitting the space bar before I clicked on "Post" but I've tried the Delete button on my keyboard to no avail. I don't mean to look like I'm taking up too much space!    :-[   Any helpful hints I might try?
