Title: Animals and the heat
Post by: Blue Kat on June 24, 2011, 04:04:56 PM
Today I took my cat to the vet for her yearly vaccinations and we had to wait longer than usual because the vet and techs were busy with an emergency:  a lab had been brought in with severe heat exhaustion.  I'm just posting this as a reminder to please keep your animals cool and comfortable in this dreadful Summer heat!

Oh gosh. Some people!    :o I remember as a kid a dog a neighbor had tied up that dad would take water to during the summer. This was a "mean" dog and the owner, his wife and my dad were the only ones that could be with it.  Maybe the lab owners will learn now to give the dog water on a hot day. Other than a 2x4, I guess you have to hit em in the pocketbook to get em to understand.  ::)

A million thanks for reminding everyone of this...it's so important for people to take care of our four-legged kids during the heat!

When it has been really hot out, I have even left the AC on when I went to work for my kitties.  But I have to say it was nice coming home to a cool house. :D
