Title: Half term and Ebay
Post by: Scottietottie on June 02, 2011, 06:50:00 AM
Hi  :)

It's half term this week and I've been totally lazy. I've gone nowhere. I always used to visit kids at half term but I feel I can't do the drive any more. I guess I could if I pushed myself but it doesn't feel safe.

Anyway - inspired by Wordnerd - I've taken up Scrapbooking. (I'm nowhere near as good as she is at it) The materials for it seem to be pretty dear though so I've spent a lot of this week on Ebay and have picked up some real bargains.

I also decided that card making would be a good project for the kids at work but several moan about not being able to draw so I bid for 41 rubber stamps (various) and got them for only ?1.70. That seller should have started off with a higher bid. They arrived today and are immaculate. What a bargain! If we make Xmas cards at work we may even be able to sell them to raise money to do something interesting. My daughter raised quite a lot of money for one of her expeditions by making cards and selling them.

Latest scrapbook project will be making a book of my grandson's first year. I want to theme pages depending on the month. It's not keeping my body busy but it's good for my mind!

Take care - Scottie  :)

Sounds like you can hunker down and work the time away with these hobbies. Wow, that was really a deal. Those rubber stamps are really spendy new. Can't imagine parting with them for that price. A very good deal for you though. Irish ;D

Sounds like fun; good for you!  ;)  These kinds of hobbies are good for the mind.  I've gotten into sewing more lately and really enjoying it.  Sometimes the achier I feel, the better I enjoy myself. Takes my mind off "myself"  ;D

You might just have to post some pics of those cool cards when you finish.

Sounds like you got quite a deal there Scottie! Good buy from Ebay (I also like bidding on Ebay and have received some good bargains as well).

I also like the idea that you are starting a scrapbook of your grandsons 1st year...one day he and his parents will treasure it more than you could possibly ever know now!

Good luck on your new projects...its good to keep the mind busy!
