Hi everyone,
It's been a very long while since I have read and posted responses; and even longer since I've written. We have been very busy with church stuff - we lost our pastor( it was sad) and my husband also ran for a town office and won.
But the main reason I am writing is to share my excitement about the ewes we bought last year gave birth last week. One ewe( she's not doing well - waiting for the vet to show up) delivered a very weak lamb that died( about 2-3 AM 4/9). Another ewe delivered around the same time- twins - a badger-face lamb ewe and a black ram lamb. Last Monday our almost 2 year old ewe delivered (with our help - she's a first time mommy) twins as well - a badger faced lamb ewe and a black and white spotted ram lamb. These three females are all badger faced. The ram is also badger faced. The white ewe delivered a white ewe lamb on Wed. We aren't getting a lot of inside stuff done because we are outside watching the lambs play and follow their mom's around.
Last spring and summer we bought 4 ewes, 4 lamb ewes, a ram and a ram lamb as a foundation herd. This is our first lambing season. Right now it's raining so I am spending time on the computer. In the next week or so I will read through the posts that have been placed so I know how things are going for the people who post here.
I guess I just needed to be away from electronic stuff( didn't watch too much TV either) for a while.

Congratulations on having new mouths to feed. Are they members of the family? (pets?)
I love Lambs! the are so cute, enjoy them!
Thanks Joe.No, they are us building a larger foundation herd.
Hopefully we will be breeding for sales next year.
Today my husband took pics of them all sleeping in a line in front of the aviary in front of the barn. He also has fan tailed doves, besides our chickens and our geese. The spotted male lamb walks right up to us so we can pet him. Fortunately, his mommy is one of the ewes that's people friendly.

Catilee2,
Congratulations on all the births! :D Having all those little ones will certainly keep y'all busy.
We've been watching another thread via a live cam of some mares that have given birth recently. One is still waiting to deliver (at least they were last night, the cam isn't streaming this morning).
Those of you who have farms are really, really busy. It is a 24/7 commitment - I'm not sure I could do that. My hats off to those of you that can.
Enjoy your new babies . . . have you named them all?
