I guess I knew it could go either way but I got my letter today that said my blood tests were within normal limits so I guess that means I'm not in menopause. Why am I disappointed? Because I suffer from endomitriosis and I know when the periods return so will the endo followed by a hysterectomy. This is what the gyno said would happen the next time it came back. I don't think I'm up to all the pain followed by a major surgery. Maybe two years ago but not now. I won't see the gyno again until the end of December. We both thought I was in menopause so nothing more was really discussed about what would be done. He said what he said about the hysterectomy after my last surgery. Maybe I'm in perimenopause. I'm having hot flashes every day. I know I couldn't stay on the Depo Provera shots forever so here we are back at square one. I've just been so sick I was hoping I was on my way to some relief.
hi Lighthouse.
I'm sorry your news was disappointing.
Can they do the hysterectomy 'transvaginally"?
This means NO abdominal incisions.
i had mine that way.
Just a thought.
Keep us posted.

He said that it was so bad in there the last time, organs were moved out of place, stuck together with endo everywhere that next time it would have to be an incision in the stomach so that he could get a better look at what is going on.
Big gentle hugs to you, Lighthouse. I hope the surgery will be a success and "fix" your problems without too much discomfort.

Good luck with your surgery. I had a vaginal hx but when I was complaining I might have to have abdominal, both my daughters said, Oh it won't be that bad and at least you won't have a baby to take care of afterwards". They both had C-Sections!!
Hi again Lighthouse,
My daughter in law finally had a hysterectomy, she was maybe 48?
She had fibroids, which is different. But the condition was draining her completely.
After the surgery she feels better than ever before.
I'm hoping it will be that way for you.
Keep us posted.
Hugs.

I also have/had endo. I had a hysto. when I was 30yrs old. They removed everything but one overy. I had to have the abdominal hysto so my Dr could get it all.
Good luck!
