Title: Listen . . . do you hear what I hear?
Post by: Bucky on March 08, 2011, 08:08:47 AM
As I sit here at the computer this morning I realize . . . . I hear birds singing!!   ;D   ;D

I love to hear birds sing (except when I'm trying to take a nap  ;)), so that means spring is just around the corner - less than 2 weeks away!!  Yay!!

We've got one goofy bird that keeps trying to get in a bedroom window . . silly thing!  He'll keep banging and banging his poor noggin on the window . . . you would think he would figure it out.   ::)

Don't forget, this weekend we "spring forward" with our clocks for Daylight Savings time . . woohoo!!  Love the "extra" daylight.

In your busy day, take time to listen to the birds sing.   :D

Hi Bucky  :)

Thanks for the warning! This side of the pond that changes all the chat times and our clocks don't change till the end of the month!

I had a really lovely, unexpected walk today along a river bank in glorious sunshine. I did a bit of bird watching then too.

Take care - Scottie  :)

Oh Scottie, You made it sound so wonderful!!! Here the 'whirly gig' is blowing hard from west winds coming this way...

Out my bedroom window in my little Garden of Joy, it is full of birds feeding on little black oily sunflower seed and so many, even some on window sill eating millet.  Birds are warning of bad weather...we're due storms blowing in later tonight pulling moisture off gulf through this TN Valley region heading Northeast.

Usually we have our cool weather garden planted by now, but this year is a doozy!!!!! This mess coming off the plains out west is going to put us in the low 20's this weekend.  Joy

Hey Bucky, The bird 'flogging' the window is probably a male.  It sees its image and it is now the beginning of mating season so 'take on the competition' window or not... it looks like another male bird looking at HIS mate!!!! Did he happen to be bright red??? ;D

Just Joy...nothing new about me other than I had ANOTHER birthday in January. I've quit counting... ;)

Me too Joy, I sure quit counting mine! ;)

Awe Scottie, the walk along the river bank sounds like it was wonderful!  Lucky you!

Goofy bird Bucky, that is one goofy bird! :)  And as Joy thinks, it just might be another male fluffing his tail feathers a bit. :D

YIKES. I had no idea daylight savings was THIS weekend.  :o Thanks for the reminder, Bucky!

OK, well, I'm glad it's spring break. The kids will be ok by the time we get back..wait. It's spring break..they'll be a semi-mess.  ;D

We have birds, and YES, I do love to listen but the silly things has found a way into the window unit in our upstairs bedroom! So, we have tree shaving from these nest blowing into our room as well as  a lot of "flutter, flutter, chirp chirp" waking us up at the crack o' dawn!  :D

Oh, well..nature IS beautiful.
