OK, no pity party..well, unless you show up with drinks. ::) I went to my GYN today for some suspicious area on my ..ehem...breast. He is sending me for a diagnostic ultrasound. He is a non-alarmist, but when I went into the hall to give the nurse my cell number so they could reach me for scheduling she said the DR told her to "get on this now". I posted my update on my BC forum that I have belonged to for alittle while. (Issues for almost 20 yrs.) WTH is up?? My body just sucks completely. :-\
Thinking about asking for Plaquenil when I see my Rheumy next week...
Kisses, Cat,
Well, I'm up for a recall if they FIX EVERYTHING!
Keep us posted
Sending lots of love and hopes for a 'false alarm' on the 'breast thing'.
Love
Elaine
Thanks. :) I went in and he had the nurse call for a diagnostic exam. I go March 11th, because I can't take off any sick days...I don't have any left. My boss doesn't "sick" people. She doesn't even know I have Sjogren's. :-\
Cat,
I think I need to be recalled, too! ;) I had one of these little scares myself just a few weeks ago. The routine mammogram and later a spot compression mammo. (which means extra-strong squishing!) Turned out it was just an area I had a cyst in before.
If you have any family history like me, I think they are extra cautious with us. I hope it's just an area they are looking into further, just to be sure it's nothing. Most likely that's the case. I know it can be a little nerve-wracking waiting for the test and the results. I was thinking the same thing if I had a big problem. Here in the last year my body has fallen apart anyway and then breast cancer to boot? Geesh, c'mon! That really wouldn't be fair.
Keep us posted. Praying for a big "false alarm" for you. Most likely that's all it is; they are just being thorough.
Melinda
Cat, When I was working for Qwest, in HICAP design and MCO, if someone would call in and complain about their lot in life, I would say; "You bring the bread, I will bring the cheese and together we should have enough wine for the party".
Live each moment in the present and take as much joy as you can from each moment. What are you here to learn? You are here to learn to live the best you can, being the best you can. Remember that success is measured by the number of people you help in a positive manner and not by the dollars of toys your have when you die.
Thanks, Melinda. :) Some family history..a great aunt is all with BC. My grandmother had tons of cysts. I was told that if I had mine reomved I would like like 12 yr old again. LOL (Umm, NOT!)
Joe: GREAT quote! Can I borrow it sometime?? :D Thank you for the kick in the patooty! ;D
Yes you can use it.. I came up with it after a root canal with out Novocaine. A lady was on the phone with whining about having fibro, a migraine and having a root canal the same day. All I could say before that my comment about bread and cheese was Me Too. An EEO complaint was filed but stopped when my 2nd level explained that was exactly what had happened to me that day.
Oh, my, Joe. A justifiable complaint! I had an RC in December...I do NOT numb well, and they had to do part of it without numbing me. I do remember gripping the arms of the chair with white knuckles and praying like I never had before. :o
I like your quote, too, Joe. ;) I like your take on living each moment...really what we need to focus on, isn't it?
Cat,
I feel you'll be just fine. My family history is so bad everytime I see a new doc and they read it, they give me that very serious and concerned look. 5 women in my family have had breast cancer, including my mother and 2 of her sisters. One sister (my aunt) and my cousin lost their battle after several years. So...it ain't good!
I used to worry, but I've come to the conclusion I can't live my life waiting for that shoe to drop (or not). Got better things to do with my time. If it does happen, God will be with me and we'll take it from there.
Melinda, You have an awesome attitude! :)
XOXO,
CAT
Cat,
Well, thank you. ;) Honestly, I try to be positive all the time, but I have those days when it's difficult, too. Thank you for the kind words.
Melinda XO
Cat1962, you need to practice my breathing meditation before and during your next RC. It Helps a lot. Even more if you can visualize something fun.
Thank you< joe! I will do that. I have one other tooth that will need a RC..at LEAST one other one...at least this is on the front side, not back, bottom and hard to numb!
Since our journeys to diagnosis our often long and complicated I think there should be a squisher machine like the mammo machine that our whole bodies go in and get squished and then can tell us every thing that's wrong.
And no recalls.
Prayers Cat.
I've had the BC scare too. They called me IN THE HOSPITAL on the day I had my hysterectomy. Scared me more than the hyster ever did. But all was good.
Just an update..had a mammo and ultrasound before my Rhuemy appt today..all clear. The breast specialist said, "Well, you are a mystery, but no sign of cancer." I'll take that! ;) Thanks, everyone...
Cat!
YAY for the good news. Hard waiting, for sure.
I should be recalled but they don't want me back!
Hugs
Elaine
;D, Carolina.
Hi Cat,
So sorry for my very late response, but wanted to say "Yeah!! That is great news!" ;D :D ;D Very happy for you.
Blessings,
Melinda
Thanks, Melinda! ;)
