My husband and I are leaving for almost a month in Vietnam and Cambodia - quite an adventure. I won't be on the boards since internet access will be pretty expensive and we will be pretty busy sightseeing, but will check in when we return.
I hope all of you who are buried in snow will thaw out some over the next few weeks. We will start out in the north of Vietnam, where it may be rainy and in the 60's, and head south and then over to Cambodia, where it will be quite tropical I hear.
Half of my luggage is full of medications but I don't care. We'll keep traveling until we have to be hauled around in wheelbarrows.
I'll also try some of that weasel poop coffee and report back (actually, I'll probably make my husband try it)!
Take care everyone, and don't get into any trouble while we're gone.

Travel safe Genko.
We'll miss your lovely company here on the boards.:)
I hope you and your husband will have a nice trip and will get the oppertunity to see a lot of Vietnam.
Make sure to take lots of pictures!
Lots of love and hugs. :-*
I hope that you have a wonderful trip. My memories of that area are not pleasant but that was a different time for me. There are many beautiful things to see.
Genko
Wishing you and you DH a wonderful trip.

Hi Genko :)
We'll miss you but I hope you have a fabulous time! What an adventure. Who will look after your garden while you are gone? So saying - I guess it's not the growing season right now.
Look forward to hearing all about your trip when you get back. I'm sure you'll have photographs too! Have a really great time.
Take care - Scottie :)
Hi Genko,
Sounds like quite an adventure....I'm glad you are still able to travel...and heck...even if they do one day have to push you and hubby around in a wheelbarrow....it's a great way to still do some sight seeing! ;)
Be safe and have fun!
We will be here waiting to hear all about it and look at your pics when you get home!
Thanks, folks.
Scottie, my sister and daughter, who both live nearby, will be checking on the house and garden for us. Many of my bulbs are already up, and several early shrubs are blooming. My sister will take pictures for me. A lot actually happens here in February.
Joe, many from our generation have mixed feelings about Vietnam, for sure. My husband and brother-in-law, along with many many friends, were in the military during that time. My brother-in-law said it was one of the most beautiful countries he had ever seen, and always wanted to go back there when it was at peace. He never got the chance to go back and so this trip is partly in his memory.
Take care,
Genko
Have a safe and positively wonderful trip Genko and don't forget to take TONS of pictures!!!!
