Hey all you Survivor fans . . . coming up on February 16th is the new season of Survivor - Redemption Island.
This should be an interesting season as former contestants Boston Rob and Russell are both on this show. And those who have watched previous Survivor shows know . . these two do not like each other and each wants to win Survivor.
This is Boston Rob's fourth attempt at winning Survivor . . . "it's either now or never".

The Amazing Race - Unfinished Business is also coming back in February.....and this time they too are bringing back people for a second chance that didn't win before!
Finally something to watch on TV again!
Looking forward to the new season..tho I do not like the fighting anger parts so much.
I love Survivor, although Boston Rob is not one of my favorites.
My son ask me why I watched a bunch of conniving, cheatining, lying, backstabbing, theiving, evil, cranky and sometimes crazy people.
It is just interesting to see who can outdo the other one.

I haven't seen Survivor the last few seasons, but want to see this one. I saw that there is going to be a preview show soon. :) I used to watch it every season. Big Borther is really my fave. ;D
In my opinion, Russell should have won the first time he was on the show as he played a great game.
I never watched the show until DH and I started dating some 8 years ago.....now I'm hooked!
I do no like the little weasel Russell. I know many do, but it's a personal decision. He claims to be a millionaire in his personal life, well I can't figure out why he has a front tooth missing. If I see that gap filled up, I will know he has some brains.
How about Dancing with the stars?

Season - your son is right - the contestants on Survivor have all those "qualities". Things we tell our kids
NOT to do or be. However . . . . in this "reality" game - you
have to do those things to survive.
I just don't like the ones who come on the show thinking they are the "puppet master" and running the show. It's always sweet when they get put in their place . . . like voted off!
I think it would be a lot harder to actually be there dealing with all the elements of Mother Nature that they deal with, no food, no shelter, no modern day conveniences that we all are accustom to - versus watching the show from the comforts of our homes. I, for one, would not
EVEN think of applying for this show.
Being thrown into that environment, I wouldn't doubt that a typically "nice" person in the "regular" world, would have to change modes and put their game face on to "outwit, outplay and outlast" the rest of the players that are there too. They're not there to make new friends. They are there to win a million dollars!
We only see a very small portion of what actually goes on 24/7 while they are trying to survive wherever they are. I would love to see what actually goes on during a 24 hr. day.
Obviously, the filming crew has somewhere nearby they stay, as does Jeff. What kind of living conditions do they have?
I wouldn't want a cameraman in my face following me everywhere I go. Again, I wonder how they do the taping of the segments. Do they follow you? Do they hide and catch things on tape? Would be interesting to know exactly how they do film the show.
OK . . now back to my real-life Survivor game . . . called life. :D

I am so ready for the reality shows to come back on!! My husband told me I had to get a life! Sometimes I have to set the shows on two different tv's with DVR so I can see those shows along with all of my CSI's and NCIS.
Hope we can discuss the shows on here so I have somebody to talk about them with.
February is going to be a good month!!!

I saw one of the new contestants in a preview and all I can say is "Oh my." He's a dark haired gentleman, Iraq vet and former Marine. I'll be watching just to see if he is all brawn and no brain (which is never a good thing).
In reality, I cannot stand lying, conniving and manipulative people because I am always being taken advantage of by those type of people. I think that by watching Survivor I have learned how to identify the wolves a bit easier--even those that look like innocent little sheep ;)
OK - I've seen the show tonight - and I won't say anything to spoil it for our West coast people.
However, I will say . . . . after ? season's of Survivor one would know by now "LOOSE LIPS, SINK SHIPS!!!" Have these people never seen Survivor before?

Phillip is an idiot! OMG! I can see why he's a "Former" Federal Agent. He's downright annoying and in your face. Christina was stupid to show her hand and Francesca paid the price. Yep, loose lips sink ships. Why on earth did she feel she had to tell anyone about the immunity idol and especially that annoying fool?
I love Survivor and even though I knew it was starting last night, my foggy brain took over and I forgot about it. Arrgghh!! Maybe I'll try to catch it online today... :D
I do like the Amazing Race even more. I really like seeing all the other cultures and countries.

The Amazing Race starts this Sunday, Feb. 20th, 8/7C
Season 18 is titled "Unfinished Business" - and has previous contestants on it.
I wish they would have cousins, Charla & Mirna back on . . . they've been on twice. The "taller" cousin is a whimp and her "shorter" cousin is a tough little cookie!!
I haven't been able to watch the Amazing Race in several seasons as I co-host chat here on Sunday night and can't watch TV (that is in another room) and chat at the same time. :(

About last night on Survivor . . . . that Phillip is going to be trouble with a capital T!! There is no way that "man" would be in my face telling me when to talk or not to talk!!

I've just caught up watching Survivor from this week. Ahhhh, I love that Russell got voted to go to Redemption Island. That guy is a weasel, snake and a manipulator . . . nothing would be sweeter than Matt whooping him next week in the dual. Although, with that said, Russell is a fierce competitor and Matt better be quick and accurate.
If I were Matt, I would be practicing tying sticks together this week and making a strong stick.

I wholeheartedly agree! His teammates certainly have his number. I can only hope that Matt kicks his butt on Redemption Island and Russell is, once again, the biggest loser!
I agree....glad that Russel got sent to Redemption Island already...but he is going fall over when he sees Matt because his team mates told him that Matt got sent home....lol!

I think they made a mistake voting Kristina out - they should have taken Phillip out . . he's weird - for being a former FBI agent, he sure talks a lot - one would think he would know how to keep his trap shut. I love how Boston Rob has him doing anything he wants.

I haven't been able to keep up with this season of Survivor this time around. However, I did watch it this week.
I'm glad to see Matt is still hanging in there. It would be sweet if he won this season - being on Redemption Island for most of the game - he has had to endure a lot.
I can't believe that nut case Phillip is still there. ::) They should have gotten rid of him long ago!!

I've been keeping up with both Survivor and Amazing race....interesting seasons for them both!
The remaining members of the one tribe are all on Redemption Island with Matt, who gets my vote for winning the whole enchilada!
I can't stand Rob and how he has manipulated his tribe or maybe I can't stand the way his tribe has allowed him to manipulate them. Very sad to witness.
For those who watch American Idol - who is your pick to win this season?
Haley, James, Jacob, Lauren or Scotty?
For myself, I don't really care for the "type" of music Haley and James sing - too bluesy and hard rockish for me. Jacob just screams too much (actually, I think he should have gone home last week). Lauren and Scotty are both young - but good.
If I had to pick today - I would say James - because he is well rounded as a singer and a musician. If he does win, that will help boost the confidence of other people with Tourettes.

Nobody told me Survivor had their Finale this past Sunday!!! :o :o :o I must have missed a bunch of shows, because the last time I saw the show, there were four or five people still on the island.
Hubby just happened to mention about the Finale in passing this evening.
I didn't watch any TV on Sunday. I wasn't feeling good after work and went to bed early.
So, Boston Rob won . . . not only the million dollar prize, but the $100,000 fan favorite. I was hoping that at least Matt would have won the $100,000.

Hey Bucky, It's Joy!
After watching Survivor Sunday night, we celebrated with... you guessed right... chocolate cake. Though, Mr. C bought this second one and had it in freezer. We topped it with yogurt and mine a maraschino cherry. Many thanks for introducing us to such a delightful treat.

Aren't those cakes wonderful? They're just the perfect size for a small family. I've got several in my freezer! :D
Actually, my favorite of any kind of cake is white. I like chocolate, but prefer white cake with vanilla frosting and a scoop of vanilla ice cream. (and yes, one of my favorite scents of candles is vanilla. Guess I'm a vanilla kind of gal. :D)
I did end up watching the Survivor Finale on-line last night. Do you think Phillip was disappointed that he didn't win? I really think he thought, he would win. ::)
