Good morning,
Well, here it is 2-1/2 weeks after Christmas and I still haven't taken the Christmas tree down yet. Does anybody else still have their tree up?
The living room looks so bare when you take the tree down and put all the holiday decorations away. :(
With all the snow outside, it just seems fit to leave the tree up. :D
Bucky - who keeps procrastinating on taking the tree down
At least you got your tree up :D ... I never bothered this year, but the Christmas cards are still on the mantle hehe
Hi Bucky!
Well, I beat you by a few days - we just took ours down Sunday. That's after I contemplated just taking it to the basement as is - still together and with all of the stuff on it - and just throwing a sheet over it. Finally I just said, "I'm tired of looking at it." and I made my son (who is the one who insisted it go up this year anyway) help me take it down. With help it only took 20 minutes and of course I felt silly for putting it off for so long, but still.
YES !!!
This post made my day and gave me the boost to make it through yet another snow day here in the deep south.
The kids have to be out in it every minute!
I can hardly go! I?m just dragging myself.
I just turn the lights on and enjoy the tree!
Snow dazed!!! No school all week!
I didn't put a tree or decorations up this year either. The cards all came down on the 5th Jan.
The tree and all the decorations are put away and now I have valentines everywhere. I have all my little stuffed valentine animals, small boxes of candy, cards scattered thruout the family room. My red and white flowers sit pretty in their vases along with all my valentine doo-dads. My husband sighs when he comes in from work and he sees what he calls 'yet, another mess.'
My tree was naked of decoration for about a week, then I finally asked my husband to take it down a couple of days ago. Poor 7 foot tree was in the corner, and it just became a fixture gone unnoticed! LOL
down and packed away, does look bare now, I think next year I;m going to get a poster of a xmas tree and tape it to the wall and shine a red light on it
My tree is still proudly gracing my dining room area. Still looks sort of decent too!
Ours may come down before Christmas 2011.
Our tradition is to take it down on January 1 for a fresh start. We often leave town that week anyway, so it makes sense to take it down. No fun, though. Here's the next question - when do you take the tree stand out of the laundry tub where it is draining, wipe it down, and replace it in its box in the furnace room? Or move the ornaments out of the guest bedroom?
I remember one year when I was a kid our tree stayed up until at least mid-February. It was pretty dried out by the end!

dont have that problem with teh artificial tree
Mine always comes down before new year as well. I think I have a touch of OCD so hate all the clutter the tree and decorations make.
I'm happy to report that the tree is down and put away until Christmas 2011. ;D
I've left some of the decorations up though - snowmen - since we still have snow and will for several more months.
I came across some photos of Christmas from other years and don't feel so bad as one of them was dated April 22nd and decorations were STILL up and another one from another year dated February 3rd. :o So, today, is January 15th - I'm waaaaaaay ahead of schedule! LOL ;D
Bucky
This is so funny! I just took off the lights and trim. Tomorrow I will take the tree down. I sure don't decorate it like I used to though. Irish
Gee - you mean I am too late to put up a tree for Christmas?? :D :D :D
It just never made it out of the box for this Christmas.
