Like I said... I had many spoons today. What a blessing. Being new to all of this I have decided to embrace every good day I have. Well... at least that is the way I feel today. All of this has been such a roller coaster for me.
I have hung a dry erase board next to my mirror. I've written all of the things I need to do for the week on it. I have also written all of the things I would LIKE to do this week. I have got to stop forgetting to do important things. And man, have I forgotten to do some important things lately. The latest was forgetting to meet a client to deliver portraits to her. I'm so glad she was so understanding about it.
Any way... I just wanted to tell everyone I have a GOOD day. ;D
I am glad you had a good day.
Me too Joe... Me too. They seem to be far and few between.
Excellent! :D I'm so glad!! HEY, this site needs a LIKE button like Facebook...hehe ;D
CAT
Also glad you had a good day! Yes, this can definately be a roller coaster ride.
I've learned to embrace the good days, too. Embrace them, feel blessed for them, enjoy them, squeeze the life out of them! :D
Here's to many more of them for you.
Melinda
YAY!!!!! I know how exciting that is! been LOW on them lately. I cant wait til I have a day with lots of spoons!
It inspires me!
Thank you!
Melinda... I like that.... Squeeze the life out of them. That is exactly What I am going to do with them. LOL Thanks.
Not to be ignorant, but what are spoons? :P

momof2,
I'm glad I could make you laugh a little. I was just thinking when I wrote that about how I try to "wring out every bit of good" out of a good day anymore.
I have a short "brain fart" story for you. I actually drove past 2 exits on the highway last week on my way to my PCP appt. The ONLY 2 exits. I was lost in thought about what to tell him.
I live in a very SE part of Kentucky, 20 miles from Tennessee. When you go past those exits, there are NO more until you reach the TN line! I didn't realize what I'd done until I saw a sign for Knoxville...uh oh...no, I didn't go all the way to Knoxville, but I had to drive across the TN border, turn around and call the office very sheepishly. They were really nice, thank goodness, but I felt so goofy.
Melinda, I have had 3 great days in a row. I've been squeezing them until they pop. ROFL...
The Dr changed around a few of my meds and it's like my head has come down from the clouds. Or out of my behind. Feels GREAT. I hope it stays this way for a while.
Go Girl.... Enjoy your good days...what a heart warming thought that a sjoggie has a goooooooooood day!!!! Joy :)
momof2,
Three days in a row! I am sooo happy for you, and you keep squeezing them til they pop! ;D That's great!
Sometimes changing meds really makes a difference; excellent...
I'm with ya, Joy, it does us all good and gives us encouragement to hear about good days! Gives us hope on those days when we have "not-so-good" days.
Here's hoping your days continue to be great ones, momof2!
blessings,
Melinda
Well..... :'( My good days have come to an end. Ughhhh... I'm so very sore. My neck and legs are killing me. It's hard to except this as my reality. I'm trying hard to hold onto those up lifting feelings I had just a few short days ago. Praying for some more in the near future. I guess I am just going to have to stomp the life out of these bad days. LOLOLOL I need to keep on laughing or I'll be crying.
Meld, Oh, I can so relate to your story. I drive up to my infusion when the weather is good and then stay overnight at my Son's place 20 miles from there and play with the grandkids.
The first time I did it alone I got lost coming home. Now, it is funny cause I know what I did to get off the beaten path. I was so freakin lost and just kept going south and then jogging East once in a while. Kept the sun to my back and right side. I had the longest trip but it was such a beautiful trip going on those back hilly roads and seeing the farmers out in the fields with the sun shinning on them. It was awesome.
When I got home my hubby asked me where I came out and he was just shocked. He told me (he traveled MN for a living) he had been on the those back roads and he has no clue how I found my way through there. I just smiles. I told him I had my cell phone, my medications and snacks in the car. I was fine. I haven't told him how many other times I have gotten lost. :D
Mom, You just keep up the smiles when you can and the tears when you need to. That is about the only way to get through the days. I just heard something, somewhere that really hit home with me. A man was on the radio talk show discussing a chronic illness. He finally learned that his job at this time was to take care of himself to the best of his ability so that he could keep on keeping on. I thought that was a really good way to put it. Also, sort of puts things in perspective. Everyone's path through this life is different and taking care of ourselves matters to ourselves and to others. Take care. Irish ;D
momof2,
Yes, stomp the life out of the bad days you're having! ;) As bad as you may feel, it will end and you'll have good days again. I'm glad you can keep laughing...
Hope we can try to keep your spirits up.
irish,
So, another getting lost story. I'm sure so many of us have them. Well, you had a pretty drive and I did, too, on my way to Tennessee. I'll have to watch it; if I drive another hour or so I'll be calling my doctor from Gatlinburg or Pigeon Forge. LOL
My brother got lost driving from VA to SW Ohio to visit our Dad a while back. I thought it was funny, because I don't think he's ever been lost before. He was fine until he was 5 miles from Dad's retirement home. It's in a town, but just outside there is lots of farmland that goes forever. He told me it was dark, he was tired, his GPS lied to him, he saw cows in the road...so funny. He was a logistics officer in the Air Force for 20 years, so I'm surprised he even told me! He said, we grew up in Ohio; I thought I knew Ohio, but apparently not!
I like the man's saying that his job was to take care of himself to the best of his ability to keep on keeping on. That's certainly true for us.

I couldn't have said it any better myself... your post reflects my feelings now and for the last week or so since I've been in my flare. Let's just believe that these bad days will come to an end soon and look forward to the good days ahead. Take care of ourselves and be gentle and allow ourselves to heal. HUGS to you.
