With winter full in effect here in Wisonsin, I can't seem to keep my feet warm >:( I do have heated slippers which are lovely, but don't last very long. My left foot is worse than the right, and it is also weaker. I practice Yoga and I have awesome balance in my right leg but when I switch to my left I get all wobbly. Does this happen to anyone else and what can you do for it??
Hi tmarie :)
I used to do yoga and used to have good balance but I certainly don't have now. I went to a 'core stability' physiotherapy group for a while and was the only one who managed to fall off a big ball and couldn't do the standing on one foot exercises without holding onto something! I'm not sure that much can be done for it but its worth mentioning to your doctor and also keeping up muscle strength with things like yoga can't be a bad idea.
Take care - Scottie :)
I have a pinched blood vessel that feeds the right side of my brain that can cause a similar problem. By keeping that part of my neck warm, I can keep the left side functioning.
feet are always cold, cold, cold. Legs are very week. I went up and down the steps this morning and I didn't think they would hold me up. Very very weak.
I;ll never understand why we have to suffer like this,, cold legs,, weak balance,, same things I have,, its crazy
I have weak leg sore legs too. I notice it more at the end of the day. I limp when I get out of a chair. I feel cold all over when it's 68-70 degrees. I am so bundled up when I sleep that it's funny. I actually where a jacket sometimes and put a blanket over my head. When I wake up I am always better. During the day when I am keeping busy or walking my dog, I don't notice it too much. I have to look around and see how lucky I am.
Its not for lack of exercise that we get weak legs,, of course I was told this when I was stil working and having that problem, I was a Electrician for a Govt facility and spent more time with ladders then I did with my family,, toward the end,, it was getting horrible,, I knew I was getting close to not being able to work anymore,, and I pushed myself 5 days a week, and worked overtime on saturdays,, we had to work weekends so that we could get up n the ceilings of the offices to pull wire or run conduit, since I was the skinniset, I was elected to spend most of the time in the ceilings,, crawling across ductwork,, measurnig for conduit,, have it handed up to me, attach it and move on, so when I started to have more and more problems with my legs,, I was told you need to exercise more
I am sure that is the case for a lot of us,, we move as much as we can,, and still get told to get out and walk around more,, I swear I dojt sit on the chair all day, I try to walk as much as I possibly can,, but it gets old when you go outside and the cold wind feels like its cutting your legs off,, or heres the weird one,, stand in the sun,, and the front of my legs will feel hot while the back of hte legs out of the sun feel ice cold, the other day,, it was about 10 degrees, I put gloves on,, it was sunny out and just having gloves on made my hands feel hot,, they were black,, ya Ikow,, weird,, so I tiook htem off, and it made no difference,, all sensory stuff,, and now its complete,, the nerves have died off in my hands,
We are having some pretty cold weather in the UK just now, so
I have been putting plastic bags over my feet on top of my stockings,
then I put on my Boots, ,hey presto ...warm as toast!
