Hello,
I've recently been diagnosed with primary Sjogren's this year, but I've had it probably for at least the past 13 years if not longer. I'm a 35 yo single mom with an almost 13yo autistic son, whom I homeschool. I'm attempting to finish my college degree although that is sidelined at the moment. And that's it in a nutshell.
Hello, doodlebug :)
Welcome to Sjogren's World! I think you'll find lots of helpful information here and friendly, encouraging people.
Sounds like you have a full plate with your son's and your education, and being a single mom of an almost teenager. Glad you are here and I'll look forward to hearing more about you.
Blessings,
Melinda
Hi Doodlebug,
Let me also welcome you to the SJS World and family! Please look around as there are tons of topics that you just might find interesting, I know I sure do.
Melinda is right, you sure do have your hands full! I was also a single parent and I know how tough that can be, but you're homeschooling and going to college too? Wow, my hats off to you!
Come often, and I hope to chat with you soon.
Take care of yourself -
Patze
Welcome doodlebug. You have a lot on your plate currently. When I was teaching I would often have to work with autistic children. One of my friends is a high functioning autistic adult. He has his degree in Electronic Engineering but has had trouble finding work. It took him quite a while to get his degree after he left the NSA.
Find what management methods work for you. Some of us have placed what we are taking in our signature lines. Some of my Dx is on the left under my name.
Hi Doodlebug :)
Welcome to Sjogren's world. I take it that if you've probably had SjS for 13 years that part of you is relieved to get a positive dx - even though it still comes as a bit of a shock to the system!
I hope you find the site useful.
Take care - Scottie :)
Yeah, I'm way too busy to be sick :) but things have slowed down now. I've thought I had lupus for a long time and had been tested for several things and had lovely inconclusive results so it was very nice to finally settle on something. At the moment I don't really have anything that works and I'm still trying to get on top of my medication.
Hi Doodlebug.
Welcome to the boards, this is a very lovely community.
If you ever need a listening ear or a shoulder to cry on, we'll be here. :)
I hope you will find a treatmennt soon that will give you relief.
Hi doodlebug~
Wanted to welcome u to the board! They are all extremely helpful here!
I was just recently diagnosed too. I agree with what the others were saying about your full plate...I work as a paraeducator with intermediate autistic kids (8-13 years old ). I know it is challenging to say the least, but boy are they special!;) I wouldn't trade my job for anything! I would miss the kids terribly!
Hope to hear more from ya!
Feel better...((((hugs))))

Not sure what degree you are going for but check out the online courses. Many colleges offer courses On-Line which really helps.
