Title: New Job
Post by: Bucky on December 01, 2010, 06:27:37 AM
Hi Sjoggie friends,

As some of you know from an earlier post, due to family finances and the economy, I have to return to work.   :(  I've been a stay-at-home mom for the last two years since leaving my job at the school.

I was hired as a Hostess at a new business in town.  Today is opening day to the public . . .  :o  All the staff has been "practicing" our roles and duties the last several weeks and from today on out, it's the real thing!

For now, I will be working a 40 hr. shift.  I haven't worked full time in 19 years!   :o  It's gonna be a l-o-n-g five days this week, with two of the days 10 hr. shifts.  Ugh!

First thing I'm going to do this morning after I clock in - get a glass of water and keep it at the Hostess station.  (just hope I don't accidentally knock it over and spill it!!   ::))

This job requires a LOT of standing . . . not sure how that is going to pan out - we'll see.  I'm steady on my feet, there's no problem there, however, it's the long days I'm not so sure about.  I've looked, I don't see any recliners or couches anywhere either!!   ;D

I won't have as much "free" time any more - but, I'll still be around the forum and co-hosting Sunday evening chat, so you'll still "see" me around.   :D

Happy December everyone!!  Wow, how did that happen?  :o

Wow Bucky!

40 hours are a LOT of hours. I get tired doing 25. It all sounds very exciting though and I'm sure you'll be brilliant at it!

Wish you all the luck in the world anyway!

Take care - Scottie  :)
