I just got "the" phone call this morning that I have an interview next Wednesday afternoon. After sitting down as a family and reviewing our finances it was decided that I have to return to work to help with the family finances. :( I left my job at the school two years ago this December.
I have enjoyed being home and now have to get back into a routine of working. Ugh! Especially starting a job as winter is coming is the pits - I like staying home in my warm home and not having to deal with all the elements Mother Nature dishes out. Oh well, such is life! ;)
In anticipation of getting an interview, I went shopping last weekend - so I've got my interview outfit and I'm ready to dazzle them with my charm and personality. ::) ;D ha ha Of course, they will hire me on the spot . . . . just kidding!!
In a way, I wish I didn't have so much time to think about this. I could have had the interview today, but I already had previous plans for the day that couldn't be changed. Besides, my shoes aren't back yet from the shoeman - they should be back today, I hope.
This is a brand new employer in town and they have their grand opening on December 1st, so they will be doing hiring here quickly to get everyone all lined up. So, keep your fingers crossed that everything will fall into place if it's meant to be.

bucky, That sounds so great!! I would think that a hostess job would be interesting. However, standing on my feet would sure bother me---I do better when I can keep moving.
Hope that all goes well. Sounds like a restaurant that just came to town. When you start working we will miss you being on the site so often. Bet youo will be tired and bogged down with the housework and all the stuff that comes with working. We have all been through that at one time or another. Many of us are green with envy.
Are you going to be working full or part time??? Let us know what is going on. Irish ;D

It's been a crazy, busy week . . . :o
I did get the Hostess job (I'm one of four). ;D Not sure what my hours or days are - I haven't been told that yet. I was asked how many hours I wanted to work, and I said at least 20 hrs., possibly more, and they said "no problem with that!". The "interview" was actually just a quick 10 minute discussion as they are extremely busy with contractors, etc. working on getting everything done by next week for several "practice runs" before the actual opening on Dec. 1st.
This week has been full of mandatory employee meetings. They are throwing everything at everyone very quickly and it's quite hectic.
I might also be doing more than just the Hostess job - that's not a definite yet. Still a lot of unknowns at this point in time.
Let the madness begin!!!

Best of luck on the job, Bucky!! A good friend of mine who retired a few months ago and is 65 just took on a sales clerk job in a bath/body store.
I think she'll work until Christmas, but wouldn't be surprised she'd stay part time after if they asked her. Lucy
