I am just asking and no one has to answer,, but has anyone tried it for pain,,, I have a few but am holding off,, but i;m ready to buy some zig zag
Nope, but let us know how that works out for ya.
I have, thought I would try and was going to get my license. It did not help my pain. Did make me hungery and I don't need to gain weight. If you need to gain weight you might consider getting your medical license.
That's funny......so many people have mentioned this to me, but im assuming it causes even more dryness???? (dry mouth)
no thank you!!!! im dry enough as it is and cant even swallow anymore. Think i will have to deal with the pain..too bad for me..

There is a pill called Marinol that is a marajuna derivative and is used for people with terminal illness. I have given it when I worked. It seemed to work well for the guy that got it and helped his appetite.
Also, remember that anything you smoke is going to raise havoc with your lungs and, as mentioned, probably with your mucus. I am waiting for you to see the pain clinic and am hoping that someone will see to it that you get all the ologists to talk and agree to treatments of some kind. Pain control, bowels, appetite, sinuses, infections. Somehow you are missing that one ingredient that makes for continuity of care.
Sometimes when we run around from one doc to another we can end up losing continuity of care. I was lucky that I kept my ENT as he was the one who came through with a new specialist when things got bad. You really do need a medical degree of some kind to deal with chronic illness. It is so frustrating. I have the good docs, but still sit here in a quandry trying to figure out if I really need to see the doc and then who to see!!!!Hard to know what ologist will take care of some of the issues. Good luck. Irish ;D
We have one of those clinics in my mid-sized Michigan town. If it would help navydad or anyone, I think it's a viable thing to at least try.
I'm with you, Gurs, though I'd not want to try it. I can just see myself having a coughing fit. Speaking of coughing, I've lately been waking up in the morning and coughing. Nothing comes up and I just believe it's a cough from all my throat and down being too dry. Lucy
Smoke it? Brownies or cookies would be the way to go, they sell them at medical marijuana dispenseries. It would definitely take the edge off and help you sleep.
You're right Epson and I think the medical depenseries also sell it in tea and pill form
helps me alot ;D and been on inhalers that dried me out more! I watch my dry throat and adjust accordingly.I used to smoke ciggs and coughed felt like crap wouldn't do that now for nothing.I quit the hemp for awhile and had no difference in dryness.my anxiety levels went up and it was harder to keep my thoughts straight as stress and pain get it all going.oh and my vission got worse.no one that really knows me thinks i should stop again. If michigan weren't so cold I'd really think about moving so I needn't be a law breaker >:(
I was having one of those periods where my legs are really tight, as if there's giant rubber band tying the two together and weights in my shoes making it tough to walk, when someone gifted me with a single serving. The infamous side effects didn't make me very happy, as feeling normal was my goal, but someone told me the results start the next day. Wow, did they. The next day I woke up with my tightness/gimpiness/muscle exhaustion gone. The constant burning and tingling I always have in my feet was gone too. The improvement lasted about four or five days. I haven't repeated the experience because I'm usually pretty out of it to begin with but if a physician offered me a pharmaceutical equivalent without the euphoric effects I'd get it in an instant.
If you try it I'd really like to hear if it makes a difference for you too.
If it would help, I would try just about anything. Moderation only.
If a person gets no other benefit from hemp then stress release or a few hours and escapeism, it's worth it. It can really relax your muscle, which mine are always like a rock.
When the Republican Party asked people to visit a web site and tell them what they should be doing, the number one suggestion was legalize pot, I don't think you will see that in their platform, but it is interesting.
Hi Navy Dad - I have been using it since a very bad 5 month long disabling GI issue last winter aat the end of my rope. The meds they wanted me to take had whopper side effect potential, including addiction. Well, I grew up in the late 60s early 70's. I remember munchies, and at this stage of my life it is the only reason I was finally able to eat. It helps a little with pain, alot with nausea and relaxes the anxiety. Only a couple of puffs and I feel better. I cannot drink anymore and my quality life has suffered so much I think it is ok for me. Everybody has to decide for themselves, but I think the methotrexate I inject every week is more dangerous.
I told my Rheumatologist and said go ahead and tell me I should not be smoking it, and he said nothing.
My best to you
I thought of something so funny.
I wonder what our posts would look like if we all started eating those brownies? .........(Nope, sorry, nothing hurts today.)
I know. I know. Just thought I would throw in a little humor. Please don't be offended.
Susanr,
You bring up some good points in your post. I was reading an article about certain supplements an so called natural cures and how some of them are dangerous, yet they are not regulated or tested for their safety or possible side effects, yet medical hemp has been tested and retested. It may not help everyone, but that is true of all medication, as you said, let people decide for themselves.
I certainly was interested in what kind of responses you'd get.....I've enjoyed the reading, and I got a chuckle! I grew up in the 50's and 60's. I have always been such a chicken when it came to something as this. I will say this though....If it would give me my life back, you bet I'd be buggin my doc. If it would give me some relief and help with my mobility issues, you can bet that I'd be asking each one of my doc's if they'd prescribe it. I'm still to much of a chicken to just do it. With my luck I'd be the one that would be slapped for it and my name in the paper for illegally using or buying it.....well, I just couldn't. Murphy's law would certainly apply! I'll be watching this post for more replies, that's for sure!
With the legalization of medical MJ is some states, it's bringing some problems such as what you're talking about, Sissy.
You can have so many plants for so many people and they are still making changes to the law as people stretch their use and posession. I don't care about it's legalization one way or the other. I feel like you do and picture myself in handcuffs for having brownies in my kitchen, Lucy
I have really wanted to try it. I have had severe, disabling periods of joint pain in my arms, hips etc. I have tried pain medications that do nothing for the pain and make me very nauseous...horrible! I do live in a medical marj. state, however, it is like $500 for a license and we have no dispensaries, you have to grow your own. Well, that is totally unreasonable. I don't know how and don't want it in my house nor want to do that much work. I have zero access to it, would not know how to buy it off the street and don't know anybody who uses it. I know people are very opinioned about this subject, however, walk a mile in my shoes with the pain I have had and you will see it is a whole different story.
I also don't like the idea of the State/Fed. gov't having my name on some list :( But if I am in one of my periods of pain and had access, you bet I would try it in a heartbeat!
