Hi :)

1st grandchild born 17th Sept. Just wanted to share. (I know most newborns look pretty similar!)
YAY!
No they look wonderful, marvelous and smart as can be!
Is he going to be anywhere near you?
Grandchildren are such a gift, and if you can, spend as much time as possible.
You have so much to teach him, and he has so much to teach you. To see the world through a baby's eyes, and a toddler, every step of the way.
And you know so much that you can share with him, so much about himself, his body, the world, life, books, music you like, all the joys of every day. To see that and share that again is a joy beyond belief.
Grandparents and grandchildren are a gift to each other.
Mine will be here today, and I'm resting up after breakfast cause I have a miserable cold, just hoping to have a ton of energy for all three of them. There's a fantastic park for kids within a short WALK from our house, and I can't wait to share it. It has spaces for all ages, with the right equipment, beautifully landscaped, everything. The three year old hasn't seen it yet.
I must have the energy to go with them. Thank GOD my husband loves grandchildren as much as I do. He teaches them science and building, how to ride bikes, and takes the older ones to learn to drive even, in a parking lot.
The BEST IS YET TO COME!!!!
Keep us posted Scottie
Kisses

Oh, what a wonderful thing to happen. YOU ARE A GRANDMA, SCOTTIE. WILL BE INTERESTING TO SEE WHAT HE CALLS YOU IN A FEW SHORT MONTHS.
Found if your family is like ours, the first grandchild usually sets the precedent for what you are called through the years to come...
HAVE FUN AND CHERISH EACH MOMENT... as my how time has flown and we have four, 7-0-1- and a now a teenager, 13!!
New horizons for YOU... How does it feel to be a grandmother???? ;) newhorizons aka/ Joy Cox
Hi :)
As he is in Missouri and I am in England we will not be seeing a lot of each other!
However - I will see more of him than if he'd been born even 10 years ago. The internet is a wonderful thing. So saying - tried to have a video call last night and could not get any sound! We usually get sound so I don't know what happened!
Thanks - Scottie :)
Awwwwwwwwwwww Scottie...thanks for the wonderful pics! What a cutie! You must be so proud!
And you are so right....thank goodness for the technology we have today so that family and friends can connect now in ways that would have been impossible years ago!
My nephew, his wife, and great nephew live in North Carolina and I am in Illinois. It's not as far as you but babies change so fast so I try to keep up a little bit better with the emails, videos and pics!
Congrats again to the whole family!
Darling!
This baby is more gorgeous than any other!
Wish I could be there to give a snuggle!

Great Pic's Scottie. My question is, he going to be a American foot ball player or a Rugby player?
Seeker ;D
It is good to see he has a proud father. Nice pics!
What a handsome little grandson you have Scottie!! I wish you could be there in person to hold him.
I agree, it's nice for the modern conveniences that keep us connected when miles separate us. I have a great niece in Ohio who is 13 months old and I have yet to meet her - except through internet pictures. I won't get to meet her in person until she is nearly two years old!
Thanks for sharing pictures.
Again, congratulations!!
Bucky
Congratulations Scottie. It is great being a grandma. Enjoy every minute.
Scottie,
How adorable! He seems very alert for a newborn :). He looks really long, too. I'm smiling for you!
Cheryl
Congratulations!
Congratulations!!Granchikdren are the best!! ::)
Scottie, he's a beutiful little thing. I agree with you about his long arms and legs. Do you think he's going to be a rower like his auntie?
Kathyx
@Katy - hmmm - you never know!
Actually my daughter was asked if she'd like to skipper a crew for this year's gbrowchallenge round Britain. Her answer was a resounding "NO!!!!!" She did say she'd help with any preparatory talks and advise for planning/presentations etc - but nothing is going to get her in a small boat on open water again!
She's thinking about cycling from Lands End to John O'Groats. Then she'll have walked across Britain (Coast to Coast) rowed round it and cycled the length of it - and done the 3 peaks challenge into the bargain. Don't know when she'll do that though.
Her next challenge are the indoor rowing championships. (Rowing machines) She's in training. she's not expecting to get placed but it gives her something to aim for she says.
@Seeker - more likely to play American Football I should think. That's where he lives!! (His dad had a go of playing it here - years before he emigrated)
Take care - Scottie :)
Scottie
If that little grandson has half as much energy as his auntie, he'll go far. Wish Beverley luck from me. Indoor rowing sounds far more civilised than her previous one. I'm not surprised she said no for next year.

Scottie . . . what, Bev doesn't want to take another adventure? LOL She's probably had enough adventure to last a life time!! :D
I had asked about Bev in a post last week - you must not have seen it (I think it was on the Discussion board under the Congratulations Scottie post). Any movie deals for Bev and the Seagals?
Is Bev's claw hand back to normal now?
Bet when Avery gets older he'll get a toy boat from Auntie Bev. ;D
Bucky
Hi Bucky :)
Bev can just about make a fist again although it still hurts. At least she can get her rings back on now! I couldn't believe the lack of publicity the Seagals got. It was quite galling. I really think it was quite a feat - and not just because I'm Bev's Mum!! So much went against them and although the UK isn't very big its tidal waters can be quite something.
I can't imagine Bev without adventures. She's been going on expeditions since she was about 15. First lttle ones with friends and then BSES ones to Alaska and Iceland where she camped on glaciers, saw bears (not iceland!) and encountered earthquakes and volcanos.
Just no more at sea!
Take care - Scottie :)
