Title: Feeling exceptionally well!
Post by: Babs659 on September 15, 2010, 12:51:23 PM
Almost totally off Medrol, still taking Plaquenil twice a day.  The past few weeks I have felt really well.  I've even been running and kayaking.  Think I should stay on the Plaquenil or see how I feel on once a day, or stop it altogether?

Feel like my old self!  Hope it lasts at least a few months.....

Only your doctor can advise you...but I personally would never give up my plaquenil.. I too have recently started to have days where I feel "back to normal"...and I attribute that to the plaquenil.  I am not going to tempt feeling worse..having taken so long to get to this point and since this disease is never cured.

It makes me so happy to read that you are doing so well!  If I were you, I'd keep on with the Plaquenil.  I love remission stories!!!  I hope one day that I'll be writing something just like this. :D

Congratulations!

I'm with the rest who would stay on the Plaquenil. It takes so long to get the effective dose, I'd hate for you to stop and find out through months of misery you shouldn't have :( That whole "back to square 1" thing is very unappealing to me.

What does your doc think?

Hi Babs  :)

I can't advise you and I agree that asking your doc would be the best course of action.

I've been on Plaquenil for 6 years now and I'm sticking with it because I hope that it's doing what it is meant to be doing and modifying the disease. I hope it is slowing progression. For that reason I'm going to keep taking it.

I'm glad you are feeling a whole lot better than you were.

Take care - Scottie  :)

Definetly stay on the plaquenil.  It has me pretty much in remission.  I have only had one flare and that was about a month ago.  I have been taking it for 3 years.  I would really be afraid to stop taking it.  My hair would probably start falling out again.

I feel so lucky compared to some on this site who I know feel bad all the time.  Stick with what works for you.

Babs, great going.  I'm with the rest and can't think why you'd want to stop the Plaquenil.  If it's working, keep doing it.  So often we take ourself off meds and are very sorry a few weeks down the road.  Ejnoy you're current heath.

Yay! I'm glad that you're feeling so well Babs, hopefully it will last for a long amount of time.
Do make sure to keep taking the Plaquenil, depending on your doctor's advice.

I had almost forgotten what it felt like to feel good.   Only us Sjoggies understand that horrible, sick feeling!
