:( Hi all, I was wondering if any of you have been diagnosed with Lyme's disease and or what coinfections? I am being tested for a second time and have started antibiotics. The doctor I'm seeing is very certain this is what I am dealing with and what is causing my autoimmune and autonomic problems. I have been diagnosed with Sjogrens but my doctors have an uneasy feeling about this diagnosis. I have thought all along that something had to be causing all of these things to happen. I will followup when I am told my test results. Your thoughts are much appreciated.
I have been told over and over that lyme's test are routinely positive (falsely though) in people with AI disease. Do you have the rash or do you know you were bit (usually requires attachment for more the 24-48 hours)? I live deep in the woods/mountains and was concerned about this after pulling off numerous ticks (sometimes daily) in the spring. I asked my doctor a couple times and he said he wouldn't run the test because he knew it would be a false positive from the SjS.
Don't know if anyone else has heard of this.
At least you've started treatment, just in case.
Keep us posted on the results and how you're doing.
Yeah, I tested positive with Igenix, but not with all the other labs..I also heard people with autoimmune can do the false positive..i would have tried the antibiotics, but
my yeast is systemic, and just couldnt risk it..If I didnt have major yeast issues, i certainly would give it a go.
However, not all people develop a rash..only like 50%.....the only way to tell is to try the antibiotics, and if you feel alot better, then you have Lymes..that is what
many docs recommend.

Thank you for your comments. At this point in time I am open to a more natural way of healing, however, in my 7 yr journey I haven't had much luck with conventional treatments. The only thing that has really helped so far is my IV IG treatments and dental work. I began my health and nutrition changes long ago. I am a farmers daughter born and raised with nature as a mind set. In the past 7 yrs I have truly changed my eating habits and increased my exercise and saw some improvement. I have implemented more vitamin supplements, probiotics, minerals and have these checks every 3 mths to maintain a balance. I began to add to my daily routine, high dose of vit C and baking soda water which is helping a great deal. This is to help balance the bodies PH so I can improve my healing process. I also can say water is my best friend, the more I drink the better I feel. I can tell I am detoxing my body and I have less pain, numbness and headaches. I am sleeping better and are having less frequent sweating episodes. This has happened because of much research and I found a really good Nurse Practitioner. The first time I saw this nurse she did a therow exam and prior to my visit I filled out a questionnaire so she knew any and all of my history. She told me right off the bat that I should be tested for Lyme's, I have all the classic symptoms and cycles of this and physical signs of damage this disease can cause. I have placed my faith in her and am hopeful she will help me get some answers I am desperately needing. Ticks carry bacteria and cause Lyme's disease and co infections that not alot of Doctors will recognize unless you have been trained and had experience with. Unfortunately blood tests are not always read properly and yes they do provide some unreliable readings. However, the power of knowledge and experience and just plain gut feelings can prove to be the key to a correct diagnosis. I wish you all the best and I will keep you posted with my future findings.
I am intrigued by this thread. My husband had read something about Lyme's triggering auto-immune disease and has been wanting me to get tested for Lyme's since I spent a lot of time in the woods as a kid and was always pulling ticks off. I'd read a blurb on Mayo Clinic website, but that only talks about the immediate signs of rash at the site and time of bite. Is antibiotic treatment effective if exposure happened 20+ years ago?

I am so sick with something but don't know what. Have the symptoms for Sjogren's but neg bloodwork. I tested twice for LD/Bart with Igenex. Adding up the bands found ie combining IGM and IGG I have/had bands: 18,28,41,58,66 and IND 34 and 39. Bart test iffy with second test.
Recently Dx'd with CVID with one IVIG treatment. Whatever, I am so sick and need to treat for something, but don't know what.
I had not heard/read where AI illnesses caused false positives on LD tests.
I think EBV can influence band 31 ? but AI and other bands?
Would like to see info on that.
