The suprising thing about Vitamin Deficiency is that the Japanese treat anything below 550 when it comes to Vitamin B12 levels,, mine were at 300 or slightly above in May,,

I have to wonder how many people are suffering needlesy due to low levels that thre doctors say are in the normal range,, especially when it comes to Neuropathy and when its considered idiopathic when in fact its a vitamin deficiency

I think if some credible research WAS done on vitamins, we would have LESS unfounded claims being made.  Problem is, who funds most research these days??  That was said, in a rather convulted way....I think we lose a lot of potential cures, because some one is profit minded...I think if the government funded more research into nutrients, we may find a LOT more.  Maybe there are reasons that some corporations dont want us to know what is inside us these days....or what simple food product could help.

same reasons that they knew asbestoes was a killer back in the 30;s
same reason the tobacco companys knew about cancer back in the 50;s
I could go on,, but the bottom line is profits Inga,,,, Money talks Bull&&it walks

Inga, you don't want big government to poke their nose into private industries business do you?  The egg industry has done a great job policing their industry, just as the coal mining industry, oil industry, natural gas suppliers and big pharma, just to mention a few.

My brother-in-law works at the Human Nutrition ("nut") Lab in Grand Forks, ND. They have been redoing all of the Vitamin and Mineral experiments for over 30 years and getting the same results that they had from the '20s and 30's. He got international recognition when he found that people and plants in colder climates need more iron in their diet.  He is wondering why they are repeating the same experiments over and over and over again to see if something changes. He likes his paycheck so he does not make waves.

If your brother in law works for the Govt like I did,, they love to repeat the same thing over and over and over again,, looking for a different result,,, but wher I worked at for the govt. it was a cesspool of waste,, New computers every year,, new office furniture every year,,, NEW NEW NEW,,, had to spend the budget money before the new fiscal year started in Oct. or there budget gets slashed,,
Looking for energy savings they replaced EVERY light on site,, I;m talking well over 4,000 fixtures,,, they had a crew that worked night doing nothing but refitting the existing fixtures,, and payed us overtime to babysit them,,,
looking for water savings they relced every toilet and urinal to low flow and no flow,, we told them the results were going to be clogged main sewer lines due to no flow of water,,, well we were right, so now they have crews come out every weekend at time and a  half to flush out the lines with fire hoses,, and now there talking about putting the old ones back in,,, and the place I worked at is just a flea compared to the total of govt waste,,

One definition of insanity is... doing the same thing over and over expecting different results.

My vit B12 was 263 and i have wondered lots if this is the reason for my neuropathy........the norm is between 195 and 500 and something, way i see it i'm nearer the lower end so why not treat me as low B12 and just see if it helps, but that won't happen x

Like I said earlier,, the Japanese treat anything under 550,, now they can build a pretty good car,, and maybe they know more about medical conditions then we do,,, they do have a culture that sees a problem and attacks it till it sees results,,

My B12 is 200,I was diagnosed with vitamin B12 defentency by a Dr a few years ago. A nuerologist diagnosed this. She had me have a b12 inj once a week for a month and then I was supposed to have it once a month. The neurologist did not diagnosis be with neuropathy though. I only had a nerve condition test and it was negative.

My new Drs did not think I had defintency because the test did not actually say is was low. But my pain Dr yelled at me he said that I do have signs of nueropathy from B12 and he did not think I was taking care of myself. He said if someones B12 is low then they need to take b12 inj for life. I will have to see what my new Drs say.

I have never had a problem with getting a doctor to test for anything that I requested, it's not not their money, the only time it becomes more difficult is when the test is very expensive (like MRI expensive) and the insurance company puts on the breaks, but if you are willing to pay for something, anything is possible in the land where cash is king.
