That was a very interesting article, Navydad.=)Thanks for sharing!
Thanks for the interesting article.
Thank you, navy dad. Your timing is perfect - I was just fretting about this exact thing this weekend. My husband works in another state and is only home on weekends. He is my number one supporter, a rock of strength. *humming Wind Beneath My Wings* But something he said last weekend made me realize that every weeknight phone conversation and so much of our weekend talks are about me, me, me and my physical problems. Gag! I know that I do it because I am filled with fear, but dumping it on him isn't good for either of us.
Thanks for sharing this.

Thanks, that was a good article. Sometimes my husband says don't be like an old person where all they do is talk about their illnesses and what medicines they are on. We used to laugh when we were younger and we'd have both sets of our parents for dinner and they would spend hours (it seemed) doing nothing other then that. Its not so funny any more and he's right!
Good article. I found the questions to ask yourself at the end kinda eye opening. I don't have a spouse to complain to, but my children stop by. I quit saying hardly anything about my illness. I wondered if I might be driving them nuts hearing about it. I tell them things only when necessary now. When it's obvious I can barely walk a few feet, they ask how I'm doing and what has the doc said lately.
I'm glad my husband never saw me like this, but I sure miss him. When my symptoms are unbearable, I would give almost anything to lay my head on his chest and say I hurt. Just the sight of him seemed to make the bad go away.

Thank you so much for sharing that article.
When I was first given my diagnosis my husband was fighting a fire. I wanted to tell him what the DX was over the phone and he told me he didn't want to hear it. That really upset me because I thought he didn't care. I placed some information in his MAN CAVE and eventually he read it. I don't complain about my pain very often but when I do he says I know you are in pain, talke to me when you aren't. My illness has affected him. Since I got sick he has stop socializing with his family. He has also developed a serious drinking problem. I think is has PTS from the war but I also know it is because he worries about me of me.
It is a eye opener to remember that our illness doesn't only effect us.
Thanks navydad. I appreciate your kind words.
Sleepy, I hope your husband comes to terms with your illness soon, for your sake and his. Hang in there.
