Title: So not fair . . . . .
Post by: Bucky on August 30, 2010, 01:00:00 PM
Last night in Sunday chat we were going on about Twizzlers, licorice, cake, frosting, etc.  (see what you're missing if you don't join us at chat!!   :D).

Anyhow . . . today as I was looking in the pantry for something to eat . . there, staring me in the face was a can of whipped vanilla frosting!!   :o  I debated . . . then, without warning, there in my hand is the can of frosting along with a box of saltine crackers.  Turn around in the next cupboard and get a plate.  Stop at the silverware drawer, get a knife.

Place all of the above on the dining room table across from my computer.  Ahhhhhh, frosting with saltine crackers . . . yum!!

Then . . . I started to feel guilty . . . "ya know, you really shouldn't be eating that" . . . "zippo nutritional value" . . . . GRRRRRRRR

So, crunch, crunch, crunch . . . here I sit eating a cucumber instead.  Boy, I want that frosting and crackers!!   ::)

Bucky, I understand what you are saying about the desire for salt and sweet. I keep them stored in a very inconvenient place. On the book shelf next to the chair I spend my days and nights in. I call it comfort food.

Does comfort food have calories?

Well Bucky you have strong will power because I know I would be licking frosting off my lips:)

Last summer my kids were staying at my in laws. I went to Mcdonalds and had a hot fudge sunday, hot apple pie and chocolate chip cookies. Best evening ever!

Mmmmmm and I wonder why I gained weight:)

I've been trying to eat healthier.  I've really gotten into juicing recently.  And that's great since I get all the raw veggie and fruit benefits.

But, geeze, I still crave crave crave sweets.  I totally understand.

I need to get a Juicer. I am always eating fruit.

Tango,
What kind of juicer do you have and what things do you juice?

Oh Bucky, I sure can sympathize with you girl friend!

Like Sleepy, I'd be licking my lips, and trying to wipe it out of my hair, and scraping it off of my clothes as I try to dive into that small vat!  Yum yummm.... ;D

I too have a terrible salt/sweet thing going on lately, and also what is it with ice?  I sure go through enough in my drinks every day!

Aaaahhhhhhhh, frosting, emmm hummm (need graham crackers for this treat though)!  Whew, if only...and yeppers, pay day is coming up soon! ;) :D

@Patze I am been a snow cone junky these days. Found a place downtown that sell giant size snow cone for little over a dollar. There about 30 different flavors to choose from. I love my ice also, had to cut done because of my TMJ. I have always been a ice chomper. I remember when I was a child, whenever I would chomp on ice my Grandpa would scold me. I guess it really irritated him:) oh that and my knuckle cracking.

@Kerry
Welcome, hope you enjoy this site and all it has to offer.

Hi Kerryalfred, let me also welcome you to the forum, and I wonder if you can start a separate topic to introduce yourself please?

And as the others have asked, what is it we can we do for you?

Hi Sleepy, oh my, I'm with ya lady!  I've always loved shaved ice, cracked ice, and whole ice (even being almost totally blue/purple, I would still eat ice like mad), never used to eat a lot of it until this mess started.

I am so jealous!  Snow cones, yum yum!  What is your favorite flavor?

About the knuckle cracking, drove the family nuts!  It still does, and yep, I still do it!  Snicker, snicker! ;)

Take care of yourselves -

Patze

I'm late on this thread, but boy oh boy....Bucky you have more will power than me girl! A cucumber over frosting???  :o

For me...I have such a hard time saying no to sweets....my big weakness....but then maybe that's why I always struggle with my weight and blood sugar....if I chose the cucumber over the sweets...my body would be in much better shape!  >:(

And malditogrillo...I have been on an ice cream kick lately too! Yummmmmmm!!

@Bucky,
I teach a sunday school class. One of the snack ideas is my teacher manuel reminded me of you:)

The treat is supposed to look like a animal paw

You take a grahmm cracker cover with white frosting
Place a York pepermint patty(this is the center on the paw)
And chocolate chips are the toes

I teach 2yr old so this would be to messing. But it sure looks good.

Well, here it is a week later and every time I open that pantry door, there staring me in the face, is that can of whipped vanilla frosting!!   :o  You would think if it is causing me this much grief that I would move that can to a lower, non threatening shelf . . but nooooooo, I leave it there so it glares at me each time I'm in the pantry.   ::)

I don't know . . . one of these days, I'm going to buckle under the pressure and just grab that bad boy and chow down on saltine crackers w/frosting!!   ;D

It gets so disheartening when I step on the bathroom scale and it keeps climbing . . .  :'(  I'm going to pick up that piece of cheap metal and plastic and fling it out with the trash one of these days!!  Outta sight, outta mind . . right?!   ;)

Oh, by the way . . . I bought the above said can of frosting in February (I date all my groceries when I put them in the pantry).  It is now September . . . . seven months later and I STILL have the can of frosting!   :o  On the bottom of the can the "use by" date is September 2010!!  So . . . . I have 3-1/2 weeks before I HAVE to use this can of frosting!!  Hmmmm . . . . there's a frosting and saltine cracker party at my house . . all are invited!!   ;D

Joe - nope, anything you cut in half, or open that is air tight is calorie free!!  Those are the rules!!   ;D

Bucky
