Hi fellow sjoggies,
I'm feeling very proud of myself and would like to tell the world.
I have just completed the "Pub to Pub" run in Sydney. It's a 13km run up and down some pretty steep terrain. I have beat my last years time by 1/2 hour finishing the run in 1 hour and 29 minutes!!!
Despite having Sjogrens, sore muscles and joints, extreme fatigue I DID IT!!
I'm gonna be sore tomorrow!
Cheers :D

WOW that is an acomplishment. You did 13 clicks in less time than it takes me to mow my postage stamp yard.
How did you deal with dry mouth? :) Oh, that's right, it was pub to pub. :)
Wow! Congrats are in order for you! You did a great job!
You have every right to be proud...I know I couldn't do that!

Probably shouldn't have started the race by going out to the pub to see a comedy show the night before. Late night plus red wine not so good for dryness!!
The main problem was that I dont seem to sweat much and tended to overheat regularly. In the race at each drink station I drank a cup of water and poured the other over my head. Even tho it was 14 degrees celcius I felt like my head was going to self combust (hence the water over my head often) I got to the end of the race looking like I'd done an ocean swim!
Chewed gum the whole way as well.
Raynauds in my hands changing colours like the aurora Borealis entertained me the entire way.
It's tomorrow after the race now and I dont feel too bad! Only thing thats a bit sore are my elbows (Can you get 'joggers elbows' ??) Nothing a heat or ice pack, and rest wont fix.
My advice, Sjoggies, get out there and get fit if possible. It puts you on a high, lifts your spirits and things dont seem so bad. I started with just a walk around the block 6 months ago!
Cheers
Chelle,
I nominate you for our poster child this week! Wow! Thanks for the inspiration.
Cheryl
My husband did it with me. He's 50 this year and finished in 1 hour, then he jogged back to find me and encourage me along to the finish line! My 15 year old daughter did it as well, in 1 hour 22 mins! I've warned them both that I'll be beating their times next year. :D
My 9 and 11 year old boys are too scared to do it! Too many good race times to beat!
YAY Chelle!
Well done!!!!! ;D
Congrats, Chelle,
I'm sure there is almost no one on here who could accomplish that but you. We love to hear it. Lucy
Awesome, Chelle!
Chelle - manmy congratulations. That's such an achievement. I don't think I could do it in 1.29 YEARS!!!
Kathyx
Chelle, that's absolutely amazing and wonderful! I am in awe of you! Congrats!
Kat
Thanks, everyone!
I've just seen the photo of me taken by the race photographer. I was feeling pretty good and thought I looked OK, must have been on some sort of joggers high! I look like I've only got minutes to live!!
Chelle
Wow, that is sooooo awesome! Congrats!
