Title: How to get a dr excited
Post by: Gerty on July 15, 2010, 11:02:36 PM
Well that's easy just tell them you have an leiomyoma esophagus (its a Benign tumor of the esophagus ) but rare and not many Dr's have seen them (in a live person)  ::) any this is true and this is my story. Dr 1 he was the one that by accident found my leiomyoma he got so excited after telling me and explaining what it was he opened his door and asked me to wait there as soon as the Dr in the next room patient had left he ran into her room and said Suzy come and look at this as they were coming he said I bet you never seen this before and when she came into the room he was showing her pointing to the barium swallow/meal X-Ray and said like a big kid do you know what that is she looked and said is it a leiomyoma  ??? he said yes it is she said wow also excited and as I was mainly her patient turned to me and said why didn't you come to me with this I told her she was not available at the time I needed to see a Dr. Dr 2 I moved away and found another Dr I was running over my histroy did not have the sle fibro or sjs at this time well I did really but wrong dignose at the time. Anyway I said I have a leiomyoma esophagus he also got excited and well Ive never seen one before  ::) as Ive seen this one time before. Dr 3 my new Dr I seen today I took him in a list as he has not got my medical records and more and more stuff has been going on I was telling I had a leiomyoma esophagus he got so excited in fact I think he almost wet his Pants LoL he was bouncing up and down in his chair and I was laughing saying your excited he said yes this is wonderful  :-\ Ive never had a patient with a leiomyoma esophagus before he said they are rare and not many Dr's get to see them me and him were laughing so much we both had to composse ourselves it was so funny I new they are rare but are they really that rare do you know some one with one or do you have one. any way I thought something new and diff would be good and maybe you will also see the funny side to my true story so go tell your Dr you have one just to make there day I hope with all your pain and suffering something funny is just what you need. he even asked if he can keep my list bet he showed all the Dr's there by now LoL

Yeah, my rheumatologist in Texas, at the med center (who had never seen a connection between pSjS and Interstitial cystitis, OR a Sjogren's patient with PN) had two med students and a resident at my last visit.

And the neurologist had two med students.  I am such a classic case of so much horrible stuff (like Halex Rigidis, which is toes frozen in place by osteoarthritis, and PN) that they love to use me as a case study for their students.

Neither one knew ANYTHING about ANYTHING.

sigh

kisses

Its just so darn funny seeing Dr's getting excited like I don't know how rare this is but it must be fairly rare for Dr's to see one Dr told me that they see it more in an autopsy but not so much in a life person  :-\ lucky for me I'm one of the life person it has been seen it  :P I think keeping a good sense of humor is important with all that we have to go through having a laugh is a good thing and try and see the funny side of our own dismay so peeps try and keep that chin up as offten as you can and watch that bottom lip cause if it drops to far down we may just trip on it LoL

When I first say your heading, I though it was part of a joke - like what you call 5 lawyers at the bottom of the ocean. (Sorry to any lawyers out there!)

I have an eye dr that I get a kick out of. I was seeing another dr in the practice until he retired. Shortly before the other dr retired he found something in one of my eyes and had to call the "new dr" I'd get in.    The new dr said "this is sooo cool.  It is so neat actually seeing this out of a textbook."    I have a "synax?" nerve thingy in one eye that in 99.99999% of people shrinks when they reach adulthood. Well mine never shrunk. I doesn't affect my vision at all but is extremely rare from what I understand.

If you get in the medical journals - be sure to ask for a percentage of the royalties!!!!! LOL  ;)
