I rescued 4 kittens and a mama cat from the side of the road last night. The jerks who dumped them off (right in front of a closed animal shelter) even left the mama's collar on, but with no name or phone number. I didn't want them to get hit by cars so I took them home. I have called 4 cat rescues and so far no one will take them because of no space.
So, I'm forced to find them homes myself. They are not ready to leave their momma yet (they appear to be around 6 weeks old), but I want to get interest going now and please talk to friends and family and see if anyone is interested.
There are 3 males and 1 female. I think may sister is going to take the female (the solid grey) so that leaves the 3 males and the momma. The mom doesn't look over 2 years old. She's pretty small. All the cats are using the litter box and they all appear to be in good health.
The cats will NOT have their shots done. I don't have the money to get the kittens all their shots so they WILL need shots and they will eventually need to be spayed/neutered.
I'm already beginning to see the personalities of these kittens. They are going to be great cats. The momma is SUPER sweet and she doesnt mind anyone playing with her kittens.
As a 21 year old college student with sjogrens who already has a 3 month old puppy, a horse with a cracked hoof, and a 17 year old cat who gets IV treatment, I know I can not keep these cats. I do not have the energy or the money. PLEASE consider adopting one of these kittens if you have the means to care for them. I

Aww...so sad that people do that! But, thankfully there are people out there like you that are taking these kittens and their mama in to find homes for. I would have 100 cats/kittens if I could. If I were to outlive my family, I would be dubbed the cat lady on my headstone.
Just wanted to mention that you might have luck posting these on Craigslist.com for your area. We have had decent response in selling or giving away items and to look for things that we need also through there.

I've had to take kittens to shelters where I KNEW they wouldn't be kept for long.
Cried every step of the way.
Sigh.

I'm a cat person who is married to a dog person and who has a daughter who is a dog person.
I'd LOVE to adopt some kittens ... but we live in Delaware AND my beagle wouldn't like it.

I too wish I could take one of the kitties, but the fur ball I have is not social with other cats, likes some dogs...go figure.

So happy to hear you have found homes for these cuties! Congrats! What about mama kitty? Are you keeping her?
They're all precious! Thank God for good people like you who will go out of your way to take them in until they found homes! I'm also in Central FL but I already have two angel kitties of my own and don't wish for more. In fact, I've been considering adding a dog to the household.
