Title: Help for an itchy back!!!!
Post by: irish on June 23, 2010, 10:32:16 PM
I have suffered from an itchy back for several years. It nearly drives me to distraction at times. It itches between my shoulder blades and a little bit lower. My skin has gotten quite coarse there also.

First of all let me tell you that I have found that if you lay on your side in bed and move your body around your will find that it is easier to get some hand lotion on those itchy spots. But not all of them.

I have been trying to come up with an invention that would earn me some money In the meantime it occurred to me that if I washed my back and then put some hair conditioner on the bristles of a back brush I could alleviate some of the dryness and itching. What a relief. It feels oh so good and lasts quite a long time also. I have my own back brush so don't have to worry about cross contamination with my hubby. Try it---you'll like it. Irish

My mother used a bath sponge with a wooden handle.

I have put oil of some sort into the bath water.  Must be very very very careful when standing up to get out.

Usually I drain the water and soap down the tub before even trying to get out, since I'm so unsteady.

But oil of some sort in the water gets to everything very nicely.

You should invent a long handled back lotion applier!
