Title: Electrotherapy etc. for PN
Post by: Beta on May 02, 2010, 08:18:50 AM
Hi all,

I did not have any luck with treatment of peripheral neuropathy with medications, my Rheumy gave me legs massages, electrotherapy, magnet therapy for pain and postular exercises.

At beginning of electrotherapy, scale was put on the maximum of 3,2 and I felt nothing down my legs. Electricity supposed to stimulate your peripheral nerves, and you should feel tingling down your legs.As I felt nothing Therapist told me that?s happening because my legs are in so much pain and I can not feel stimulation.

Second time I felt nothing, but on the third time of therapy I started feel tingling down my right leg on scale 2.3 , bellow maximum of 3,2. :)

After few treatments pain in my legs decreased greatly, I have done by now 3 electrotherapies treatments and 5 of each others.  I am continue next week, can?t wait to see if helps on the long run. :)

I have not heard of this type of therapy for PN, very interesting. I hope that you keep us posted on how you are doing with it.

Thanks for sharing!

Beta,

Do you actually get these treatments in the rheumatologist's office?  Mine haven't offered me anything like this, nor has my new neuropathist and I'm getting desparate now for some relief.  Exactly what idoes the rheumy call these treatments?

Thanks,

Sheltiemom

I hope that it goes well for you. In the past I have used foot patches that contain activated charcoal and dried apple cider vinegar to remove toxins from my legs in a three week process.

Hi everyone,

I do get treatments at the Clinic specialising in rheumatoid diseases. Do you have same Clinics over in the USA?

I know there are a few different electrotherapy treatments, I do get Electromagnetic therapy (that is exactly what is says on my med document), and I am not sure how to translate the other one, it say Electrotherapy-galvanisation but I will ask tomorrow for better translation.

There is little bit about Magnet therapy:

Thank you Joe S,

how did it work for you? Have you done it by yourself?

Thanks for the information, Beta.  Didn't realize at first that you were not in the U. S. but will check this out next rheumy appointment.

The 21 day cleanse lasted at least 3 years.
