He was our baby for 13 years - we were meant to be looking after him for two weeks ... He was a scruffy ginger terrier, with a passion for chocolate (I know, not good for him!). We loved him to bits, but 'old dog encephalopathy and double incontinence forced our final visit to the vet today.
We know we made the right decision, but we are still really sad. He will be with all your fur babies now, and hopefully much happier.

My dear friend,
I'm sorry you lost Jaffa today.
Love to you,
Janna
(((Kathyx))),
So sorry about your dear, sweet Jaffa. I'm sure he had the best 13 yrs. of his life with your family. I know your hearts are sad tonight - may the happier times with Jaffa comfort you.
Sending you a big cyber hug . . . . .
Bucky
Oh Kathy - I'm so sorry.
The death of a pet is like losing a family member.
Thoughts with you - ((((( K ))))) - Scottie

I'm so sorry for your loss, but I'm sure that Jaffa is looking down on you and thanking you for the wonderful years and all the love (and chocolate) you gave him! He is with so many others who will watch over him until one day you two will meet again.
I'm such an animal lover and have been through this more times than I care to remember....but each little furry one will always stay alive in my heart as will Jaffa stay alive in your heart.....and all those warm and happy memories you can keep with you forever!
Take your time to grieve....it's ok to be sad and don't let anyone tell you any different!
Sending lots of hugs to you......
Hi I am so sorry for your loss, it is so hard to loss a pet they become such a big part of our lives. There is a pretty poem called the rainbow bridge which is about the loss of a pet. If you google it, you will find right away.
My thoughts are with you and your family.

Iknow the painoflosing pets,,, its horrible
Sorry to hear about the loss of Jaffa, that is a hard decision to make, We had to put our cat Tillie to sleep this year and she was 19. We still miss her. Hopefully our pets are having a grand old time together and not missing us.
Jules
Thanks for your kind words. They mean a lot.
We just feel a bit numb at the moment. How can the house seem so quiet, just becuse one little dog is no longer here? Even the cat is subdued.
It's lovely to think that Jaffa will be with all the other fur babies. He will also be with his original owner, who thought the world of him. Jaffa used to go fishing with John (before he came to us) and liked nothing more than to eat the maggot bait!

Kathy, I am so sorry you lost your Jaffa, but I'm sure he is with a lot of his canine friends across the Rainbow Bridge.
I know you are lost without him, but you will feel his presence many, many times in the coming days. He will try to comfort you and let you know that he is okay with your decision to let him go.
It is so hard to let this friends and companions go. I know...........having done this several times in the past. The hardest one being my minature Schnauzer "Shultzie". It's been 9 years but I still miss that little imp.
Take care,
Hugs, Pooh
Oh Kathy - thoughts are with you as you miss your little Jaffa. I know he would have had the most lovely life with you caring for him and him giving so much love back. Hugs to you XX Ailsa
I am so sorry to hear of the loss of Jaffa. My heat goes out to you as we had to let our sweet Marble go this past May. She is probably up there waiting to greet Jaffa with her silly smile. Although we now have a new puppy that keeps us going Marble will always have a part of our heart just as I know Jaffa will have yours. Know many of us share your sorrow and wish you the best.
Oh I am so sorry to hear about Jaffa. They leave such a hole in our hearts :'( ((((((kathy))))) xx
Thank you!
We are getting used to our new routine, without our little friend. His mate, Sooty cat, has decided to steal the warm spot near the fire. I think she misses him, but she's enjoying being our only fur baby.
Kathyx
The other animals in the house definitely know when one is sick and also feel sadness when one has passed.....I don't know...some may say I'm crazy...but I think you can see it in their eyes and in their behavior.....they know when one of the family is gone!
Lynn
I know what you mean. Sooty has become so vocal this past couple of days. The cat and dog were never best friends, but were more like an old married couple, who tolerated each other - and snuggled up together when they were cold. I think she needs more human cuddles til she settles down again.

I think you are exactly right....it will help both of you!
