Hi Jas,
Make sure that you write down the symptoms you are having so you can review them with your new rheumy. He/she may refer you on for dry eyes/mouth to an eye doc and dentist but they can also prescribe salagen or evoxac for the dry mouth issues or suggest more over the counter products to help in those areas if they are not severe at this time.
The first visit will probably include a review of medical history and symptoms, ordering some new labs, a complete physical, etc. Good luck and let us know how it goes!

I agree, take a advocate with you,, sometimes we feel intimidated by some doctors and having someone there with us that knows us is comforting

I agree that you should write down all of your symptoms and take it with you. I did this for my first appointmen on Feb 26th and it was such a great help. Not could I not remember all the symptoms I was having even while I was looking at the doctor's check off sheet of symptoms but I had forgotten that I brought my sheet. Once I remembered, I had a look at it and then I wrote those down that I had missed. I am glad that I followed this advise from here.
