Title: Sudden Severe Acute Tear Gland Inflammation
Post by: beeinformed on February 17, 2010, 09:08:55 PM
Hello Everyone!

I had a severe acute inflammatory attack of my tear glands and within a period of twenty-four hours, I lost about seventy to eighty percent of my tear glands. The symptoms were severe pain, swelling of my upper lid, tearing and photophobia.

I am under the care of an occular immunologist (specializes in ocular inflammatory diseases), who is treating me with Durezol topical eyedrop (a very potent eyedrop)! and probably will move on to Cellcept immunosuppression treatment.

I look forward to hearing from other members, who possibly have had this type of acute attack on their tear glands.   :)

Hello Beeinformed  :)

Welcome to Sjogren's world.  That sounds like a horreendous experience, something I've not encountered myself. I hope your treatment is successful and that you feel somewhat better soon.

I hope you find the site useful.

Take care - Scottie  :)
