Title: Re-Introduction
Post by: Cally57 on January 17, 2010, 02:21:36 PM
Hi everyone!

I posted quite a while back.  I have been recently going to the chat room.  I have been a bit overwhelmed with my illnesses and family issues.

I am wanting to get back to the boards.  And make some connection.  I will be going to the Mayo (Rochester) Clinic in 4 days and wanted to stop by and say howdy :)

I am 57-female in the northern midwest (brrrr).

Everywhere I reconnect I see I was going to Mayo Clinic in early 2009.  I finally got the courage.  I ran into a lot of opposition in the health world-but "I DID IT".

Thanks for always being here, enjoyed catching up.

Welcome Cally. Hey a fellow Midwesterner.  8) I live in eastern Iowa and have bunches of cousins around Minneapolis, MN and right across the St Criox in Somerset, WI.  I can't complain about the weather in Iowa because it is always worse up north. The only time it was worse here was in June 2008 when we had the floods.

I've heard good things about the Mayo Clinic. Least there you get more intelligent knowledgable doctors. Don't get me wrong I am not bashing doctors just that 99% of us have had to take the long road with many dr stops before we finally got diagnosed by one that wanted to take the time and knew what he/she was doing.
Good luck at Mayo!

Thankyou everyone!!  I am here now@Mayo.  I am having chill attacks again.  I had two last night.  One each day for the last three days and checked my pulse it was near 100.  So that said, I hope I get a chance to ask about THAT!!  I have had the priviledge to take my daughter to the Cleveland Clinic in Ohio, so I know Mayo WILL give me a clearer picture.  Medical Records folks kinda dropped the ball, but I am not discouraged.  I have some records.

More info soon...again thanks for just being here!!

p.s. because of my research and dealing w/daughters autoimmune and my own, people are starting to share my phone number with others who are dealing w/autoimmune (I am no expert) but just validating these folks over the phone (I heard) was an immense lift to them....and took me out of myself to help someone else, and give them courage and let them know, you are NOT crazy and NOT lazy, and I am here for you.....Can't get that at Wal-Mart...I have encouraged them to hook up here and get more in-depth info.  Not everyone has a computer but there are also ways around that!
