Why am I typing this with a bag of frozen peas on the back of my head?? Because I just had a disaster of 'Home Alone' proportions! I'd just sat down to have a coffee with a friend who called round and bent down to plug in the fairy lights which have graced the chimney breast for several days now. Somehow I must have pulled the wrong wire and the whole set came tumbling down with drawing pins pinging and bouncing off my head. They landed on my coffee, the mug leapt from the mantlepiece on to my head and smashed, showering me with scalding hot coffee on the back of my head.
Fortunately, my friend is a nurse and dispatched me to the bathroom to stand under a freezing cold shower while she mopped and sorted the mess out. I can see the funny side now but have a very tender scalp!! Here's hoping that your Christmas is less spectacular XX Ailsa
thats not what they mean for you to do, when they say enjoy the christmas lights!
:D
Ailsa, At our home in the counrtry, we call that being a 'sore head!' Peace and J :) Y, may it be yours throughout the rest of this holiday season!!!! ;D
Ailsa
What are you like.? Hope the peas do the trick. Try to stay away from the lights in future.
Kathyx
Ailsa - you take the word "entertaining" to a whole new level don't you?? :o Seriously, how is your head where you got burned? - sounds painful. "Peas" take it easy girl . . .
Hugs,
Bucky
Oh blimey!!!
Hope you're not too sore and stiff in the morning. :-*
Wow, Alisa, you are supposed to plug in, not try on the coffee cup! Dang girl, I'm glad to hear that you're doing well, but that must have been scary!
I hope that you feel better soon, and darn it, no wearing of the lights (not unless I can wear some too (remember that we must be color coordinated now)! ;) :D)!
Patze
Wow Ailsa - that's the way to get Christmas started! Hope your poor sore head is better by the morning and you're able to enjoy Christmas.
Thinking of you - Chickpea xxx

Hi Ailsa,
Glad to hear that you are ok and that you just happened to have your friend there that was a nurse!
Enjoy the rest of the holidays....
To the tune of Chestnuts Roasting On An Open Fire . . . (kinda sorta . . lol Use your imagination people!! ;D)
Ailsa is wearing a coffee mug . . .
Coffee streaming down her head,
Fairy lights falling as they crash to the ground,
Thank goodness Ailsa's friend is around.
Off to a cold shower Ailsa goes . . .
Freezing her keester off and even her toes . . .
Next time when you invite in a friend to your house . . .
Leave off the fairy lights, that job is for your spouse . . .
Merry Christmas, Merry Christmas, Merry Christmas, Ailsa to you!!!
Bucky :D
All right Bucky! Nice one!
Patze
Sweetie Ailsa!

Janna
Buckyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy..........you crack me up! :D
Buckey,
It would be a really..... Incredible journey to climb inside your mind. :o
;D
Girl, what was your reply in the drinks for the Holiday threads? What I'm gettin around to askin is "Just what all was REALLY in that coffee?" He! He!
I'm a very visual person, my imagination is very vivid so I can just see this playing out, blow by blow and I must say it is a mixture of comedy/drama. I can only imagine what was going through your friend's mind watching it live and in action.
Hope you're doing better you po thang!
Bucky, I'm still shaking with laughter at your little ditty! Thankyou xx Ailsa
