Title: Odd symptom
Post by: wallaby on November 23, 2009, 06:57:32 AM
I have a raised, blotchy, itchy rash that comes up intermittently.  It is usually around my knees, hips, elbows and occaisionally belly and face.  It comes up with no warning and will either stay for a few days or disappear within 24 hours.  I spent a long timeeliminating things from my diet and surroundings to see what I am allergic to, but to no avail.  The best answer I can come up with is that I am "allergic" to stress.  Anyone else get this symptom?  Have any better ideas?  I ask because it is back again this morning and I really don't feel particularly stressed out right now!

Wallaby, this could well be Uticaria.. It can be allergenic,

My Grandaughter has had this intermittently for about a year now , and has been told that eventually it will burn itself out.
It does upset her tho. as she works ,and people remark on it frequently. Some days it never shows ,then up it comes another time..

My daughter (her Mother) had one  very bad attack of this when she was about 8 or 9, she looked like something from outer space,

but fortunately she hasent had it ever again..I must add tho she does suffer from Excema, and has done since childhood..

So it seems yet another mysterious complaint that can affect people so differently... ,    in sympathy,  Dolly

Hi Wallaby,

My advice would be to see a dermatologist if this continues and bothers you from the itching etc. They can prescribe all kinds of lotions and potions to help relieve the symptoms and diagnose you so that it hopefully can be stopped. My dermatologist is famous for mixing his own concoctions up...the pharmacy hates it...but he usually gets things cleared up for me!

Hope you can get this resolved soon!
