Well we made it to 38!

Friday my hubby and I celebrated 38 years of marriage and still going LOL.  We weren't really going to exchange gifts but since our LSU Tigers just won the College World Series, I felt he needed a new hat to show off.  Our celebration was to go out for dinner and have a nice evening.  Well we went out to eat but made a short trip to a local eatery and made a mad dash home.  The heat is so bad around us you feel wilted taking two steps out the door.

For the past two and a half weeks we have had temps of 97 to  101 with nearly no rain.  Two days ago we got about 15 minutes of rain - the first we have had in all this time.  I was yelling through the house, "I hear thunder.  See if it is raining."
Very seldom do things get this dry in south Louisiana.  The heat we get but usually there is an afternoon shower to cool things down.  How do people live in hot dry climates?

So today our celebration was to sit home in the air conditioning and do little or nothing.  It was a great day.  We watched a movie together and visited with our son for awhile this afternoon. It was a lazy kind of day with no stresses or urgent needs to be met.  Even with the unbearable heat we managed to enjoy doing something together - enjoy each others company.   A perfect anniversary celebration!

Wow, that IS hot!!   I'm here in Central IL and we've had it hot the last week - up in the 90's, which is hot for us.  I prefer a perfect 75 degrees.  :)

Glad to hear you and hubby enjoyed each others company today.    May you have many, many, many more celebrations in the years to come.   ;D

Happy 38th Anniversary to you and your hubby Salsen! That is great to hear in todays times! May you enjoy many more happy years together!!


And btw....your laid back and relaxed celebration together sounds absolutely perfect....a time for you both to spend quality time together....especially in this terrible heat wave that many of us we have been having...the A/C is WONDERFUL!!!

Hi salsen!   Congrats on your anniversary.  Sounds like you had a great day (my kind of day) :)

I hear you on the weather.  As you know, I'm in Houston so we have basically the same climate as you.  Some of the city had rain the other day but it never made it to my house :( .  I think that almost makes it a month???  Chances seem good this week so I'm hoping.  I'll sprinkle fairy dust on your and my house that we get rain :)  Don't know if it will work but it doesn't hurt to try  :P  At the very least, some cloud coverage for a cool down!

Congratulations Salsen!!!

A lazy day with no stresses - sounds like the perfect anniversary celebration.  I hope you enjoy many more years together in such harmony.

I hope the rain comes soon and clears the air.  It's unusually warm and dry here in southern England but the heatwave will probably only last 5 days.  It's tennis at Wimbledon this week which usually ensures downpours at least for the finals this weekend.  That's English weather for you - no wonder we talk of little else!
