Hi Laurie,

I have never had any swelling of the Bartholin's Gland, but decided to look it up and in all the information, there is nothing that states having SJS puts you at increased risk for these glands to become swollen.  Mostly what is stated is that it can be caused by infection, injury or inflammation.  I would recommend mentioning this to your doctor, especially if you are experiencing pain from this.

Sorry could not be much help.  Maybe someone else will come along with more useful info for you!

Hi Laurie  :)

The only time the glands in my private parts swelled was when I had glandular fever (mono). Glands I didn't even know I had swelled that time. I had a closed throat, got an ear infection which pressed on a facial nerve resulting in Bell's Palsy. I had swollen glands under my arms, in my groin, privates, knees and elbows and I really thought I was going to die - and felt so bad - I didn't mind.

I haven't had a flare like that with SjS but I don't have it as badly as many others have.

Take care - Scottie  :)   (our home page)   (find our chat times here!)  (way to chat + nickname and #Sjogrensworld)

l would have to answer yes as I did have a swollen Bartholans gland which eventually became infected and
I finished up having to have it removed urgently.  This had everyone from gp to gyneacologist scratching their heads but this was just before I was diagnosed with Sjogren's and I know now that dryness was the real issue everywhere.  Am now very careful to use Replens gel.  Do keep an eye on it.
