This is trully a crazy way to live. I have been so sick for a pretty long time this time. can't get into my gp, bladder infections one after another...was in the ER Sat for 4 hours waiting for an antibiotic I could toleratre....macrobid been on it since and today I woke up and even before I really opened my eyes I was smiling. Just could not believe how good i felt...it has been so long. Did lots today, the first i've felt like it in forever. Little erands, phone calls, visited my mom, did laundry, went to physio and then came home and cooked dinner. Even after dinner I was still good to go. Being carful though as not to upset the applecart. Maybe it's just been a low lying infection for a long long time...since Christmas...7 UTI's. Still hoping to get into my gp the office called and cancelled my appointment for July 31 that they had already cancelleed for July 4! Now I'm booked for September...not too much hope for an appointment but i see my rheumy Aug 6. it's these days that keep me from giving up! Hope you all have one or two soon too. Sandra

Good for you, Sandra.
It's days like that that I call "unflares". I had seemed to be in one continuous flare for so long, that days like that gave me some hope. The do start running together after a while, and once that happens, the flare is actually over!

Sandra, Finally, they found a med that is helping you. That is the best!!!! So glad that you are feeling better. Just make sure you don't overdo as it is so easy to keep on going when we feel better. Then we end up pooped and spend more time on the couch. Hopefully, the couch will stay empty for a long time. Irish

Sandra, you're feeling back to normal - LOL it's been too long since you felt like that. I'm so glad you're getting appropriate antibiotic - now I hope you can get some follow-up treatment so this UTI doesn't return.

Thanks Guys, it's funny usually it's the good days I remember, and they are why I continue to fight. Kind of like I know I'm in here somewhere  I just have to get somebody to believe I am too, that's the hard part, and then to find the right key (treatment) to get me out! Feeling good today but kind of tired probably the antibiotic. Plus the neuro i saw last week thought it would be good to double the amitriptyline dose from 10mg to 20mg to try get things to settle down. i take it at bedtime to help with sleep/deeper sleep which helps contorl the pain...nerve or muscle. I think the amitriptyline really helps but the double dose has me kind of sleepy all day. I am told that any side affects should disappear fairly quickly. Anybody here on amitriptyline? hoping you all have a great day soon too. Sandra

Hi Sandra 

I'm on Amitripyline for nerve pain too. I just ake 10mg at night. I did get as high as 25mg but found it too drying. If you can tolerate the 20mg I think you'll find the sleepiness wears off as you adjust.
