Thanks everyone
Michael had the bloods done yesterday - results due sometime next week. He has lost another 7 pounds in the last 3 or 4 weeks - a total of 2 1/2 stones now in a few months. He looks very thin and he is obviously worrying.
Apparently, they think the thyroid is OK, but not sure. Their main concern is diabetes. He has to go for some sugar test after the new blood results are back. He didn't tell the nurse he had had further bleeding, but has promised that he will tell them when he goes back for his results. He also has to persue a rheumatology appointment that he was promised last year, but for one reason or another, has never happened.
It's really frustrating. On the one hand Michael promises to be upfront with the medical people, on the other hand, he is frightened to know what is wrong. I have offered to pay for him an appointment with a gastro/bowel doctor, but I think if he is upfront, an NHS appointment would be given pretty quick.
By the way, please include Sarah in your prayers. Her baby is not due for 8 weeks, but she was having niggling pains yesterday. It's probably Braxton hicks or an infection. Hopefully it's not the baby. A prem baby is the last thing they need just now.
Will update you when I have some news.
Kathy
