Maqui Berry by Life Extensions
« on: January 02, 2017, 03:26:18 PM »
Hello everyone,
I just read a great research article from 2015 by Life Extensions on Maqui Berry. Have any of you tried it? Apparently it's supposed to help the lacrimal glands produce more tears. I'm not sure how to share the link on here from my phone, but if you do a search I'm sure you will find the article. At any rate, I just ordered some. Here's hoping it will bring more dry eye relief. Just thought I'd share the info.

Is this the research you're referring to Wal?
https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/25208615

Looks interesting but take into account it was done using otherwise "healthy" volunteers
so I have no idea if it may help SJS dry eye issues.

Here is a forum discussing other's results with it.
Seems worth a try to me, I may order it as well.

Thanks, Wal!

I took it for 4 or 5 months and I couldn't see any value.  Mileage may vary for others!

I've almost finished my months supply.  Not sure it's making a difference. My eyes have stabilized since my round of steroids and taking Xiidra but I still have flares. I'm
In a eye flare now I'm guessing due to the sudden cold snap we are in here in SC. The Maqui Berry isn't helping with the flares so oh well. No harm done!

Wal- Steroids made my eye dryness worse for some reason, less so now that I'm tapering down.
From my experience few things help while in a flare.
I ordered a 2 months supply as some supplements take about that long to fully kick in from my experience.

Elaine- Yes, I believe if a supplement doesn't help after a few months it's time to drop it.
It's always worth trying, as we never know what will help.
