Just a hello
« on: October 19, 2012, 08:00:44 AM »
I just wanted to introduce myself and say hello!

This forum has really been a great resource for me over the past few months. Any time I question my symptoms in Google, useful posts from this site always pop up. (Although I really need to stop consulting Dr. Google.)

I was diagnosed with Sjogren's in June, just as I was turning 30. I have two little ones-- 2 and 7 months. Looking back, I've been showing symptoms for about seven years, but they only seemed to start affecting me intermittently three years ago. Since I had my second child, this disease has really kicked into overdrive. I'm struggling a little right now trying to be the best mom I can be. Dealing with new and really weird symptoms has taken a toll on me physically and emotionally and I'm feeling kind of wiped out.

I have so many questions but don't really want to spam you with them right now. Just thought I'd say hello!

Hey Sidney!  Welcome to the group.  I am sorry that you have this, too, but this group is terrific.  Everyone is so kind and supportive.  This is my second family!

I have a 4 yr old and a 3 yr old and was recently diagnosed in April after many years of crap symptoms.  Mine got worse in the past couple of years.  They thought I had MS at first.  The journey to diagnosis hasn't been fun, and I'm still in limbo somewhat.  I am getting treatment though and feeling mostly better.  Message me any time--good days and bad!!

Thanks so much! I have so many questions.

It's bittersweet to see other people here with little ones. Obviously I wouldn't wish this on anyone, but it does make me feel less alone. So it's nice to meet you!

Hi Sidney - welcome!   :D

We have quite a few members with young children - so you are in good company.  My son is older, at almost 17 yrs. old.

If there is a specific topic you are interested in, if you put that word(s) in the search box to the top right of this page it will take you to previous threads about that topic.  If you can't find what you're looking for, by all means, start your own thread.

Are you taking any medicine for your Sjogren's?  What are some of your symptoms?

This forum is made up of both women and men, from their teens into their 80's, from all walks of life and literally, from around the world.  I hope you find this site helpful to you on your Sjogren's journey.  It helps to be around others who "get it" and understand the ups and downs of this disease.
