New Topic: Information Update on Sass
« on: June 15, 2012, 09:58:16 AM »
So I saw the new doctor today for the second opinion and now sit at another doctor office!   WOOOOOOOOHOOOOOOOOO.... PRAISE GOD!  YET ANOTHER MIRACLE to witness about.

He does not think it is IPF...
No lung transplant suggested.  It is still bad and progressive, but this is treatable.  No name for it yet, but he thinks it is Sjogrens that has settled in the actually lungs!
Waiting at The Best Rhemy in Houston, personal friend of lung doc.  Then off to another CT lung scan.

Will have to have a lung biopsy surgery, that will put me in Hospital for 7 Days.

Could not was it to tell ya'll

Later , ~sass~

OMG!  That is awesome.  Such a huge weight has been lifted off of you and your family!  I know you have a long road ahead of you with many boring waiting rooms in your future.   Perhaps investing in a reading tablet could help pass the time.  Earlier this week, getting my blood drawn at my local hospital, I was blown away by the number of people who had one.  But the real shocker?  How many women were reading 50 Shades of Grey on theirs'!

I hope your surgery goes well, but my condolences on 7 days of hospital food.

Sass, first of all I am extremely happy for you that there are other viable options out there for you!!!!!!!

It sounds like perhaps you might have been misdiagnosed by the first doctor.  If that is the case, I'm so very sorry that that happened, no one needs to be told terrible news like you were unnecessarily.

I really hoped that you would find an excellent pulmonologist and it looks like you have one now and I'm very glad that that has finally occurred.  Having an outstanding pulmonologist has made all the difference to my own Lung issues which have also been caused by my severe Sjogrens as well.

My initial indications that something was very wrong, other than a chronic cough and an inability to breathe well, and a low O2 leve,l were that I had two partially collapsed lungs and then later a fully collapsed lung.  I also had a lung biopsy as you are going to, and in my case, the biopsy indicated that I have Advanced Interstitial Lung Disease, Chronic Pneumonitis, Follicular Bronchiolitis which have all been directly caused by the advancement of Sjogrens in my lungs.

Please continue to let us know what is transpiring with you and I hope with all of my heart that your new specialist is able to get you on a decent treatment program that will give you a new lease on life.

Hugs,
Daisy

So new news.  I am very sick, Although this is treatable, it is very very aggressive and is now being considered an emergency.  Waiting on another CT scan!  This is chemo drugs  and steroids etc.  He said it MUST be stopped soon

Hi Sass I too was dx. with pulmonary fibrosis, my lung Dr. insisted it was sjs but could not get anyone to agree with him. Then he sent me to an Immunologist. They put me on IV-Igg what a difference.

God Bless you I hope you are as luck as I

Prayers and Hugs for you,
