I'm an A but I don't remember if I'm positive or negative. I think I remember associating it with my grades in school, which would be A negative since no matter how hard I tried in high school and college, I just couldn't get straight As!

I hope these statistics will add to the fun:

Blood Types in the U.S. - from the website bloodcenter.stanford.edu/about_blood/blood_types

Blood Type & Rh    How Many Have It    Frequency
O    Rh Positive    1 person in 3    37.4%
O    Rh Negative    1 person in 15    6.6%
A    Rh Positive    1 person in 3    35.7%
A    Rh Negative    1 person in 16    6.3%
B    Rh Positive    1 person in 12    8.5%
B    Rh Negative    1 person in 67    1.5%
AB    Rh Positive    1 person in 29    3.4%
AB    Rh Negative    1 person in 167    .6%

I found this old thread and found it to be interesting....donated blood today and I got to thinking about blood types and eating.  Never thought that it would matter but it makes sense.  So, I went ahead and the totals for the thread as it was up to this point...

Sjogren's  Blood Statistics for our board - not scientific

31 replies (including me - I'm A+)

A   2       6%
A+   11  35%
AB+ 3    10%
B  1        3%
B- 1        3%
B+ 2       6%
O 7        23%
O+ 4      13%

I think it would be interesting to know out of the different blood types, who has confirmed diagnosis based on blood work and tests?  For example, I'm A+ and cannot get a diagnosis from blood work.

I'm sorry... Maybe I have brain fog too bad to understand.  :D Are we saying that people with certain blood types are more likely to have Sjogrens? Or are we saying that they are less likely to get positive tests? or something else?  I'm confused... :(  GG

I think the comparisons of the statistics is very interesting.  Wonder if there is a Sjogrens investigator who has a bigger sample of data and how that would compare to our members?

I am blood type O-.  I n researching blood type diets, I came across a statement linking type O with autoimmune conditions.  The reference is in the very last section of the article.
