Favorite quote

I wanted to share with everyone a quote I recently read by one of my heroes:  the late, great Mr. Rogers. I have it posted next to my computer and read it several times during the day -- I can actually hear his voice saying this inside my head!  Does anyone else have a quote that gives them strength?

Thanks for sharing that.  I always loved watching Mr. Rogers on TV - he was always so calm.

When I think of Mr. Rogers I think of:  "It's a beautiful day in the neighborhood", and his trademark sweater and shoes he put on and off each show.   ;D  Ahhhh, the good 'ole days.

I can't think of any favorite quote right off hand . . . I'll have to see what I come up with.

That's a wonderful quote.  Thanks for starting this thread- a great idea for positive thoughts and encouragement!
Fred Rogers was an amazing person. Thanks for sharing the quote.

Awesome, lynnmarie!  :D 

I love "Be kinder than necessary, for everyone you meet is fighting some kind of battle."  That's really struck me in the last few years. 
When I was younger and would be irritated at someone driving slowly or wonder why that person couldn't control their kid in public or why someone looked so blue, etc.  I'm ashamed to say many times I only thought of what I was doing or feeling, not what the other person may be going through at the time.

 I guess now that I've had more "life experiences" I'm able to try to put myself in another's shoes.  We never know what someone we meet may be struggling with; they may be in real need of some patience and a kind word. Just like us... ;)

I notice that one of my friends on Facebook always posts things from Status Shuffle.  I like the one she posted today:  "I realized to be happy you must go where your heart leads you! No matter what others think or believe, go with where your heart leads you! ♥"

There are a few books that have a lot of my favorite quotes in them - all by the same person, H. Jackson Brown, Jr.  His books are called, Life's Little Instruction Book and originally they were just little observations and words of counsel this man, H. Jackson Brown, Jr. jotted down and put them in book form for his son that was heading off to college.

There are way too many to put them all down here, but here are a few from that book.

*  Be forgiving of yourself and others.
*  Treat everyone you meet like you want to be treated.
*  Don't postpone joy.
*  Never give up on anybody.  Miracles happen every day.
*  In business and in family relationships, remember that the most important thing is trust.
*  Surprise loved ones with little unexpected gifts.
*  Stop blaming others.  Take responsibility for every area of your life.
*  Learn to listen.  Opportunity sometimes knocks very softly.

Ii have a little ditty that our esteemed member, Linda106, posted a few years ago. I wrote it down and have it taped to my desk. Here goes.

My disabling chronic disease is more real than your imaginary medical expertise. I don't know if Linda got this from someone else or if she came up with it on her own, but it is really a hoot. So fitting for the circumstances many times. Thanks Linda. Irish ;D

When I worked for the USCIS I had this one from George Washington Carver taped to my cubicle:
