You are very naughty!   ::) But you made me laugh out loud!   

I am so sorry to hear about your acquaitnace.  I don't use those things after having one plugged in that I forgot about and it was hot when I realized it was empty.

I have always been very sensitive to strong smells...mostly the floral perfumes and such.  I too hold my breath and walk fast.  I usually get an instant migraine.  No fun.

Those kinds of scents used to really bother me. Now I rarely smell anything at all. When I eat it's like I'm pinching my nose. Seems very possible dry nasal membranes in SS folks aren't able to flush things like perfumes away. I think my nasal nerve endings are just too far gone. Thank goodness for small favors I guess.
